Guest dancemb Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 I am probably not the only person to ask or wonder about this, but with the amount of Apple apps available everywhere for everything possible, will there ever be a chance to get these to magically ever work on a Dell Streak? I have seen a lot of useful apps on there store (a mate has one currently) especially games, and wonder if the Streak has the same ones? A multi-platform release would please a awful lot of people, as I want the apps that Apple have available, but want the Dell Streak as my next long-term use phone

Wait long enough and Android will supersede Apple devices and all the 'good' stuff will be available to the Streak
Guest worley Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 There is no direct way to run any iPhone apps on any device running Android, however some authors have re-written their apps/games for android (e.g. Angry Birds, Galacon etc. etc.). There is, however, a system that you can use to write apps on both platforms in one go (Appcelerator Titanium), which lets you write apps in Javascript, even allows you to access various APIs such as GPS/location, accelerometer data etc. and works with all iOS (aka iPhone OS) or android devices by compiling javascript into either Objective-C or Java (yeah it's weird, but works). I'm sure that doesn't help you much, but that's the situation as it stands, and likely that it won't change, I can't foresee any sort of iOS emulators for Android ever being any use, and not likely anyone is going to be able to hack iOS to work on Android devices as stated above the problems with drivers will hinder that.
Guest spences10 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 There are a multitude of apps that are available for both the devils spawn and android Angry Birds Evernote Seesmic Just from memory, I'm sure there are plenty more

Guest dancemb Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 There was 1 certain program, where you can download as much music as you like (even chart music) without ever having to pay for it. Not sure of its legality as I dont have an iPhone, but would be nice to find an Android alternative if there is such a program?

Doesn't sound like something Apple would approve, especially as I don't think they allow anything to save retrievable files to iOS except for their own software (e.g. iTunes). It's probably some kind of streaming app and I'm sure there's plenty of those on Android - Spotify probably being the most famous.

U buy a monthly subscription and depending on what level ie. Premium allows you to download and store songs on ur devices as well as stream music for a set price.

Sounds like just what you're looking for. An unbelievable disregard of music licensing law!!
