Guest dwattsy21 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Hi Guys, I installed launcher pro yesterday, and am loving it. So much that i paid for the plus version. however, I have noticed it is absolutely draining my battery so fast. Even without the facebook and messaging widgets, it still drops so fast. is there anything i can do to stop this, or does this always happen with it? Cheers, Dave
Guest Freekers Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 I also have LauncherPro (like a lot of other Blade users) and I personally don't have this issue. I suggest you install Watchdog (lite) to see what's eating up CPU usage in the background and thus draining your battery http://www.appbrain.com/app/watchdog-task-...ut.watchdoglite
Guest dwattsy21 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 cool thanks I'll try that. It's just weird that it's been fine right up until I installed launcher pro
Guest Freekers Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 I think the gallery app is eating you battery, like it also did in my case. Was using up 99.9% CPU in the background..
Guest TurboGP Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 I have had launcherpro on for a few weeks now and the other day out the blue i noticed that my battery was draining pretty quickly. I did a few reboots and charged it a few times but no change.. Today I swapped to the regular homescreen and now the battery is back to normal. Why would launcherpro do this? It's pretty obvious that it is causing the problem but is there a fix for it? I prefer that to any other homescreen I've had.
Guest Frankish Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 I have used LauncherPro for months and not experienced any of this. Do you use any of the LP widgets?
Guest Nedjo Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 One of the things I've fallen for San Francisco was the fact it uses stock "The way it's meant to be" Eclair... after you clean Orange bloatware! ;) ask yourself, does LP really enhances your usage experience beyond fancy looks? Not to be misunderstand, there's no wrong answer! It's really subjective!
Guest TurboGP Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 I uninstalled launcherpro then rebooted and reinstalled it. Working fine again using the exact same setup i had as before. The calendar is the only LP widget i have on.
Guest m_w_clarke Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I've been using launcher pro (paid for) from quite soon after I got my San fran in october. I use the people widget and get updates of facebook and twitter fetched every hour. I use beautiful whet and fancy widget, both of which fetch data regularly. I get two days between charges. Have you followed the battery saving tips and recalibration advice on the forum?
Guest targetbsp Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 Doesn't solve your problem but if you're after an alternative fast launcher then Zeam is very nice. It does lack the ability to hide apps you don't use from the app drawer though which is a bit annoying. But it's very nice aside from that.

Guest TurboGP Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 i didnt need to do that. once i'd uninstalled and rebooted and reinstalled launcherpro, it had corrected itself. Must be a problem with the app as lots of people seem to have it regardless of what phone. Just hope it doesnt do it too often.
