Guest tavella Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) I've done a lot of searching and I'm not having a lot of luck with my issue. I am curious to know if anyone else out there has experienced the same thing. I purchased my Streak directly from Dell (no contract w/ AT&T) and it came installed with 6601 (AT&T 1.6). I have installed 4399 (O2 1.6), 8105 (O2 2.1), then Steve's v.1.1.1 and as soon as I start with 4399 I start to experience issues where the data appears to stall out and just stops functioning all together. I have tried three different SIM cards in my Streak and I experience the same issues every time on all of the builds (except 6601 and 6267). My voice works perfectly but the data is just junk. I made sure the correct APN settings have been entered, had my SIM re-provisioned by AT&T with a standard smartphone data plan, tried my iPhone 4 SIM (wap.cingular), and iPad SIM (Broadband) with no improvement. I have experimented with Steve's 1.2 with the new baseband and v1.3, still data issues. I tried downgrading from 4399 to 6267 to see if it would make a difference, it did as the data started working again. Stepped back to 4399, data issues return. This wouldn't be a big issue but the Streak cannot detect the wifi AP my iPhone sets up using MiWi (no an Ad-Hoc) and it cannot detect the Ad-Hoc created by my MacBook Pro. Is it possible to do a Bluetooth tether to the iPhone? I know with specific software, I can tether my iPad to my iPhone via Bluetooth. Would anyone have any suggestions or tips as how to resolve the data drops/stalls? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Edited November 17, 2010 by tavella
Guest tavella Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) Additional Information: The network data indicator shows that my phone is trying to send out data and it doesn't appear to be receiving any even with the correct APN. I went in to the phone info by dialing *#*#4636#*#* My IMEI, phone number, and current network appear to be correct. The Ping test fails. Only presented with options if the radio is turned off or all I receive is "Set GMS/UMTS band". I am currently using my iPad SIM (Broadband APN) but my regular AT&T SIM gives me the same info. Any ideas as to what may be wrong? *Update* I received a replacement Streak from Dell and it fixed the data connectivity problem. Edited November 19, 2010 by tavella
