Guest Shadowfactor Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Hello, I have recently switched to using a macbook Air instead of a PC due to my dell laptop being stolen from a home breakin  I'm currently on Hyde's froyo V1 for my ATT streak. I'm trying to upgrade to Hyde's froyo V1.2 or 1.3 which ever is more stable and allows for downgrading once the Offical Dell ATT 2.2 comes out in december. The part I'm having trouble with is Part 5 "5. Connect your streak to pc - the text on streak should change to FASTBOOT_MODE. you should place the amss.mbn file into the same folder as fastboot on your pc run the following commands from command prompt on your pc" Exactly what would I do to for this part since I'm on a mac ??? Thanks!
Guest tavella Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Hey, Open Terminal from Spotlight and navigate to the directory that has the fastboot-mac and the file you're trying to flash. If it's the amss file do the following: ./fastboot-mac -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn ./fastboot-mac -i 0x413c reboot ^ This will reboot your device so you can enter recovery mode. Hold down the volume buttons until the recovery screen appears. If fastboot-mac gives you an issue and doesn't want to run do the following: chmod +x ./fastboot-mac You should be good to go. Guest XsCode Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) if you have the mac version of fastboot you do exactly the same.. Edited November 17, 2010 by XsCode
Guest Shadowfactor Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 This is going to be a dumb question but where do I get a mac version of fastboot ? is there a special version thats for the dell streak and macs ? Thanks again!
Guest tavella Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 there should be a file in one of the r1-xxxx-recovery files. You need fastboot-mac If you need a copy, here you go: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8327131/fastboot-mac

Guest Shadowfactor Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) I got it. Streak is installing Hyde's V1.3 update. Hopefully all goes well. Thanks for the help guys! Edited November 17, 2010 by Shadowfactor
Guest tavella Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 chmod +x fastboot-mac ./fastboot-mac -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn Type those commands in a terminal window. Make sure both fastboot-mac and amss.mbn are in the same directory.
Guest Shadowfactor Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Got it working. Although it seems pretty slow when using Dell Stage UI. Is there any way to speed up the UI by tweaking the build.prop or something along those lines
