Stuck at fastboot

I am trying to upgrade to DJ Steve's FROYO and it was all goode until I tried to enter fastboot. I get the white screen click fastboot and connect it to the USB. Now all it says is "waiting for fastboot detect". can someone please help???TIA

I figured out I need t install fastboot on my pc but I cant get the dell suite to install on my PC. Any ideas?

Sorry, I'm a Mac user. No clue about the Dell desktop software.

Ok, now I'm in fastboot mode but am unsure what folder to put the .mbn file before I enter the comands into the comand prompt

Ive tried all day and I know it's something simple but does anyone know what folder I put the .mbn file in? In the instructions it says to put it in the the same file where the fastboot is contained in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
