Guest Shadowfactor Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 I was wondering if there was a way to Lower the screen density while maintaining the ability to use Dell's stage UI... I just can't get used to how "zoomed in" the phone looks compared to when I was using Hyde's V1. Thanks!
Guest Dogmann55 Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) Hi all I thought it may be worth mentioning its not only the Stage UI that needs screen density set @160 to work properly as i am using Beautiful Widgets for my Clock and Weather on my Home screen and when the screen density wasn't set to 160 the Weather animation on turning the screen on wasn't working at all but as soon as i changed the screen density back to 160 it was all good again this is the only app i have noticed was effected by the change but their may be others to. Of course we all have different tastes and whilst i got used to it being set at 140 quite quickly once i went back to 160 i actually realised it was better for me i mean its not like having it at 140 allowed any more apps or icons on the home screen and IMO they just look better and clearer at 160 anyway so I'm sticking with the original 160 setting on my Streak. Marc What he said. I noticed the Beautiful Widgets issue after installing 1.0 and immediately edited my build.prop file to change it back to the stock 160 screen density.

I really dont mind the zoomed in look anymore as Ive noticed it makes reading things on the device easier. The only issue I really have with it is that when in portrait mode the Stage UI overlaps into the next screen space ? Also is there anyway to delete home screen ?

Just drag and Bin it like you do for a App icon that you want to delete.

I must be missing something because I tried several times and that didn't work. I have the Dell Stage UI set as the default home launcher. BTW I've tried to figure out how to switch the default Home Application or atleast reset it but for some reason I Can't figure it out... How do you switch Home launcher app's anyway ? There's nothing under the manage applications sections Edited November 18, 2010 by Shadowfactor

There's nothing under the manage applications sections Applications>Manage Applications>Running tab>[whichever launcher you're currently using]>Clear defaults The next time you hit the home button you will once again be given the option of of whatever launcher apps you have installed.
