I'd suggest (at least as a starting point) the Modaco R4 ROMm, which enables it, and makes it faster.

Ignore the best part of that, got the guide here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...online-kitchen/ now all I want to know is whether it will remove any of the personal stuff on the SF that I've set up

I'll answer your questions backwards . 1. Yes, copy it on to your SD card, and flash. (do a backup of your phone in Clockwork first, just in case anything goes wrong!). 2. You should be able to install R4 over the top of your existing ROM, as they're both 2.1, and everything will remain intact. If for whatever reason that doesn't work, restore from your Clockwork backup, then use Titanium Backup to backup all your applications, if you're using Launcher Pro, you can get it to back up its settings. The only thing which you'll need to redo, is to re-add your widgets, as Launcher Pro can't re-add them.

Can I ask why the hardware acceleration is not enabled by default on the orange fw? I know when Paul first enabled it, it caused some issues, which were later resolved - maybe Orange couldn't be bothered to iron out those issues, or didn't even know about it. . . Nothing would surprise me .

Guest thevoid Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Sorry can't help with that - I never use YouTube on my phone. seems the phone had a moment, the audio failed, music player failed to support mp3 format. rebooted and all is well, I had been installing various stuff prior including pluging into pc. anyway, the phone is now functioning fine
