Hello there,

I've tried both the stock player and advanced music players from the market (even the ones with equalizers).

With the sound quality I have no major problems, but the volume is average at best, even with a Koss PortaPro (60 ohm, 15-25,000 Hz) HQ stereophone.

So is there a way to beef up the volume somehow?

(If this has been already posted, please redirect me and sorry B))

I *think* its been spoken about before on here. BUT I dont have any issues with the output.

I have the volume on the lowest level at my work desk (and thats more than fine!) and on the train I have it ~85-90%. Thats good too and cuts out most of the train noise and is good even for classical music.

This is with sound isolation (not cancellation) Sony Ex-85's

I hate these noise-isolating headphones, as I can't hear the outside world properly (and thats very dangerous if you're on a bike or something).

So I'm still looking for solutions B)

Separate issue but I strongly believe cyclists should NOT wear earphones. It suicidal.

As both a cyclist and car driver it really rattles me when I see someone doing this! You might as well cycle with your eyes shut and hope to make it to your destination.

Sorry, back onto topic again.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Even with in-ear Denon headphones the volume is far to quite.

I have a pair of cheap noise-iso's and they're pretty loud...but the best music result I get is with my Motorola HT-820 bluetooth stereo headset...

And I use Poweramp as my music player, not the standard android music...

In clockwork recovery....

scroll down to "install zip from sdcard" and enter (press the home icon button to enter)

then "choose zip from sdcard" and scroll down to "audio booster.zip" (must be left in zip format)

choose yes and then reboot once complete

Done!!

It makes things louder though the top level is a little distorted through the speaker , havent used headphones though

It's almost loud enough for me. Almost.

Also i ride a bike daily and have headphones in! it's no risk at all. you can still easily concentrate.

if its a problem, then on that logic car stereo's should be banned and i'm afraid those with no hearing you too will be banned.

Silly!

I use a pair of sennheiser cx200's and it's quite loud for me.

Although, the hiss when nothing's playing is quite noticeable, would be nice if we could reduce it though.

Not silly at all. Car stereos don't lock out the traffic noise (like say some one beeping there horn to get your attention) and deaf drivers have to have extra insurance because of the increased risk! Deaf cyclist also pays more attention by the virtue that they have to in their normal every day lives - it become second nature. Unlike a hearing person who just *thinks* they have all senses available to them with noise isolation earphones in.

I have a deaf close friend who totally agrees with me on this one!

How do you know whats coming up behind you or whats going on around you?!

Its the poor driver (remember im both a cyclist and a driver) who will be to blame if the cyclist gets knocked off for not hearing the traffic around them

i somtimes use headphones when riding, as long as they do not block out external sounds and they are at a volume so you can hear cars i see no problem

Nothing wrong with listening to your phone/mp3 player on your bike. Cars have got me with and without my headphones in so I prefer in. I'd rather not hear them coming. Anyway you can still be well aware of the traffic noise around you with headphones in - even more than someone in a car with the stereo on. Personally I don't use noise isolating ones for sport as I don't like the feeling when exercising. I get enough crap at work about safety so please lets not preach to each other here.

I have tried all the fixes I could find but none of them worked for me :-(

I now use in-ear bud earphones which at least let me hear what's playing. Is Froyo any better for earphone volume?

Is this the file that flibblesan posted here?

If so, thought I'd let everyone know who made it.

I bought this Fiio e5

still waiting for it will test it and post how it is

I've got that amp and although it makes a difference, it's still too quiet for me. The zip file that flibblesan made almost sorted the issue out, just a little too quiet still, but it's not bad at all.
