Guest RHodgett Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 My new SF arrived this morning. I was eager to update the firmware so I installed clockwork recovery with fastboot from scratch and installed "r6_update_de-bouyguesed_fat_blade_signed.zip" from ClockWorkRecovery > SD Card. I forgot however to root the device... The phone boots, shows the green man and then the android logo. It then crashes at the android logo. The animation randomly stops, the screen goes black for a brief second and then the animation starts again. I have since connected the phone up and superrooted it using fastboot. Installed clockwork again and installed the rom again. Still, hangs at the android loading screen. I have checked the md5 on all the files including the rom and they are all correct. Could it just be the rom? Should I try another or should I factory reset the phone using clockwork? Please help.
Guest MDCFan Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Wipe data/factory reset through recovery and flash ROM again. If that doesn't work, wipe again and try another ROM.
Guest RHodgett Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Wipe data/factory reset through recovery and flash ROM again. If that doesn't work, wipe again and try another ROM. Thanks, eventually worked with "r5_update_de-orangeated_blade_signed.zip"
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) However it should have worked, but as the roms from Sebastian don't include superuser, you need to install it separately. There is an APK for this Info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598 http://blog.23corner.com/tag/universalandroot/ http://blog.23corner.com/2010/08/30/univer...eta-5/#more-407 Download http://bit.ly/9wAKC5 Edited November 18, 2010 by StevenHarperUK
