Battery Life (e.g. for watching videos)

Hi all,

Really sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find much (specific) using the search function... I'm looking at picking up a Blade/San Francisco (I've got giff gaff...time to start using that internet allowance!) but a couple of things hold me back.

1. the dodgy headphone socket (as discussed elsewhere)

2. I've heard the battery life aint great..... but just how BAD is it? It's listed as 4 hours talk time, which dont sound like much. My current SE w610i is listed as getting 7 hours talk time...... But how much juice could I get out of the Blade running videos? 2 hours? I'm guessing it's not set up to watch full DVDs, but it might be nice to pass my time on the bus watching the odd video...will it work for me?

I've got a Creative Vision: M (not that I'm trying to replace that with a Blade), which is a beast as it plays pretty much any video you throw at it without converting. Are there apps for Android that would do the same?

4 hours talk time means you can talk constantly for 4 hours. If thats not much you need to move closer to your girlfriend/boyfriend B)

In practice most users seem to get about 1 to 1.5 days charge from normal use. If you use it heavily, e.g. watch a movie or play games it might run out in an hour or two. Simple solution to that though:

if only i had such a person to talk to B)

you make a valid point..... I get 150 minutes a month of giff gaff and struggle to use that, haha

Is that from experience? If yes, then your battery is broken mate B)

Because I watched two episodes of Family Guy last night (20 mins each). Before watching it was 95%, after the 40 minutes it was still 81%.

Can someone confirm that that New Trent pack is really compatible with the Blade please? That pack looks awesome as a battery backup sollution.

It's a universal USB product, so I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible.

Numerous similar sollutions were reported incompatible with the HTC desire over at swedroid which made me a bit unsure, hence I'd love to hear someone with a SF using it with np.
