Weak Wifi Signal and strange behaviour

Hello forum

I just got my San francisco today and I am a little dissappointed to face a problem so early the WIFI is completely rubbish.

I get 1 dot signal only when upstairs and 3 bars when next to the router which is a bthomehub the latest N version. My desktop and laptop which are also upstairs have full bars exelent signal so obviously there is something not quite right here.

Anyways I did a little googling and found out others with this issue, some of who are saying it happens with other android phones aswell.

Read a few places where it is hardware faults and some San fran phones are working whilst others have crappy signals.

I also read about wifi disconnecting when the phone sleeps and you have to manually re-enable it however I cant test this just yet as my signal is too crappy to begin with and it drops out because it is so low.

Everything else so far on the phone is great apart from this.

Any help please, should I return it and hope for one that works or are there any fixes. Cheers

Also shouldnt it say 3G next to the network signal instead of just G and two arrows?

Also I am not ready to root the phone just yet need to get familiar with android and even touch phones for now.

I had poor wifi on my first handset, (50-75% signal when 2m from the router) orange swapped it and now it's much better, full signal when in the same room as the router.

So am guessing I should return it and get another one. No software fixes available?

I think everyone has the same bug.But,new Rom may be helpful.I hope so,at least.
