Data connection prompt

Is there any simple way of getting the phone to promt me for a data connection when I open a web browser for example? the phone if for the other half and to keep battery to a maxium she will be leaving wifi and 3g off until needed, just confuses the hell out of her having to switch it on manually even with widgets.

Not tried it but I have heard "Tasker" can do things like this - whether it can do what you want I do not know.

It is on my list to research and buy.

that looks a hell of a program, I've installed data switch and enabled it to auto so it shuts the 3g off when screen locked and on when unlocked, will see how she fares with this and her 1gig data allowance
