Hi,

After playing around with rooting, ROMs, Radios and RILs etc i have decided that i never had more reliable reception than when i first got the phone. I therefore wish to return it to the 2.1 that was on it originally when i received it from O2.

Now i have got a nandroid backup which i have restored but it doesnt seem to have returned the radio to the original one.

I have the following information saved from before i began rooting etc

		BRAVO VT3 SHIP S-ON

		HBOOT-0.83.0001

		MICROP-051d

		TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101

		RADIO-4.08.00.09

		JUN 10 2010,12:12:05

		Firmware Version 2.1-update1

		Baseband Version 31.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09

		Kernel Version 2.6.29-c8d11160 ktc-kernel@and18-2 #1

		Build Number 1.20.207.3 CL171460 release-keys

		Software number 1.20.207.3

		Browser Version Webkit 3.1
However after the restore all of the above are back as the originally were except for these below.
		RADIO-5.11.05.27

		Baseband Version 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27

Can someone please point me in the direction of what i need to flash to get the original settings back!!

Thanks,

Chris

just find that radio either here or at xda.

you want the:

32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27

You quoted above...flash it like a ROM....

Sorry it seems there is a bit of confusion!! What i want is to go back to the 4.08.00.09 radio as the 5.11.05.27 gives me nothing but reception problems (missed calls all the time, even when testing it reports full signal as 4 bars but when girlfriend tries to phone me she cant get through and i just get a missed call text!)

Actually i have just found out about RUU which if anyone can tell me the original one i had i will just do that! Then i can reroot to allow some of my root apps to work again but not mess about with the bloody radio and roms lol.

Thanks

Chris

You need HTC Sync installed and running and HTC Sync selected on the phone. Once it says connected on the PC then run the file

Hi,

I need to unroot my T-Mobile Desire to send back as I have issues with the sd card reader. It's SLCD, only found out recently, when I rooted (on my join date using unrevoked3) I dl this RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.15.110.11_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122755.s..thi

king it would cover me, is it still applicable for my device? I have the s-off hboot version, can I just run this whilst connected with Sync and it will undo all changes including the splash file?

Thanks

So annoyed at the mo!

Wahey! Fooooked up my phone! The RUU went on fine only it's for an AMOLED obviously cos can't see sht!!!

Trying to dl 1.21.110.4 from shipped roms but it gets to a few mb and times out.

And the mem card that was gold card is corrupted. Awesome.

UPDATE: I have this RUU now RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.10.405.2_R_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_142

28_signed. If I can just get that on and get a functioning phone can then maybe send that to T-Mobile see if I get away with it or find an T-Mob RUU for SLCD...if I can do something in adb it might help...although it's not showing in list of devices...just a blank where the serial would be..

Help?

Ok, am going to try the steps from here: http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things...en-bricked.html

However, as stated in my earlier post, I have a WWE RUU for Froyo ready to install that I have been advised is for SLCD. However apart from the one t-mob ruu I've already tried , the only other T-Mobile UK one is this which I now have dl: RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.21.110.4_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127570_signe

...is this SLCD friendly? Anyone know of one that is?

All round FAIL :)

The WWE RUU gave customer id failure..yes, I have no gold card

The second TMUK is another AMOLED one, installs fine just can't see anything!

Although the device serial is displayed in fastboot, it isn't in adb...blank...tried all suggestions, many google searches, pages read here and on xda, re-installed drivers.. no go. Cannot create a gold card.

Need to put on my dumbest voice when speaking to T-Mobile who are expecting a working phone with faulty sd reader only B)

As a friend said...dang.

There's a thread on XDA on how to get it working again. I'm trying to find it now - specifically for T-Mobile UK

Right try this...

hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749551

You should get it working again. It will involve getting the silly 'German' OTA but then you should at least be running and should also get the latest OTA to get you back to stock

Thanks Eddy, I saw this thread last night but to create the gold card I need adb to pick up my device, it just shows a blank instead of serial whereas in fastboot it shows serial. Annoying.

I tried creating a gold card via ubuntu but ended up screwing up the bash script instead now the linux install is corrupt on the pc lol! That's a side issue though.

It's frustrating as the T-Mob RUUs go on fine, no need for gc but as they're AMOLED based, doesn't help much convincing TM I haven't been screwing around as they'll see a black screen. The WWE version requires gc (gives CID error otherwise) but even then, would they not pick up on it not being t-mob branded? From what I can gather, there is no TM SLCD RUU therefore anyone with one shouldn't really root unless happy to take the risk they will not be able to unroot. Am I right or totally missing something here?

I think (although I could be wrong), that gold cards are not phone-specific, so you could get someone with a working phone to make one for you.

Ok sorry but both of those links are dead. Also i now see all the stuff about AMOLED and SLCD screens! How do i know which my device has? I really dont want to install something which stops the screen working!

Or maybe i should try to make a gold card and just use the WWE RUU?

EDIT: Actually i just realised that wont help either unless i know AMOLED or SLCD or will it!!! Arrrgghhh to confusing lol

Apologies for hijacking your thread but it was a similar issue...initially!

As for how to tell what screen you have, I used 2 ways, 2nd depends on your comfort level! 1. Check the box: If it says AMOLED screen, there you go. If it doesn't then it's SLCD. Strange but true.

2. Flash a recovery meant for AMOLED. If it is an SLCD then when you go into recovery it will be a blank screen but when you reboot normally you'll see everything. Then just flash back your other recovery that was working. All that requires S-Off or fastboot knowledge. If not familiar forget it. I'd use AmonRa r5 for testing as r5 is for AMOLED, r5.1 is for SLCD. I then went back to Clockwork Mod after that B)

There is a third method regarding the blackness of the screen (google it) but I can't tell to be honest.

Neither link is dead, but shipped-roms.com can be a bit flakey at times. Get the 2nd one as it's a FroYo update and all FroYo RUUs are fine on SLCD screens. No gold card needed if you're on o2

OK, i have tried them a few times over the weekend and always get an error like the one below

Error in Query!

RUU_Bravo_Froyo_O2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_releas4166_sign

d.exe doesn't exist.

Any ideas of another mirror of the froyo RUU?

Cheers

Chris

You're right, didn't see that there - assumed once the page opened it'd work...I'll see what I can find

EDIT: my bad, incomplete link...for some reason pasting the link location doesn't work properly. Go to the main directory here and download it:

http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category...amp;model=Bravo

Thanks for that! I will give it a go when i get home tonight. The main reason i want to return to stock is that the current combination of radio and rom that i have is giving me poor reception. To elaborate, when the phone is not in use (just in my pocket or sat on the desk) it often reports no signal and calls are forwarded to voicemail. If however i try to make an out going call or use internet then a few bars appear and the phone works correctly.

It seem that if I initiate an outgoing connection (I appreciate that all connections are bi-drirectional but you get the idea) then it seems to work, anything incoming either gets diverted to VM or if its a text seems to take hours to arrive!

Any idea why this might be?

Oh and can i re-root once i have done the RUU flash to get setCPU and the like working again?

Yes you can. With your current setup, though, things won't work as you need a radio compatible with the Android version you're using. If you're on an Android 2.2 ROM you HAVE to have a 5.x.x.x.x radio. If you're on an Android 2.1 ROM you need a 4.x.x.x.x radio

Ok thanks, I'll give the 2.2 RUU a go tonight and see if things improve. I can live without the root for a while until im certain i have got a ROM/Radio combination which works. I still find it hard to believe that it is so hard to tell an AMOLED from an SLCD! Is it not possible to look at the version of the screen driver or something clever like that?

Also should i decide that i really want to go back to 2.1 can i flash the RUU and if the screen doesnt work just flash the 2.2 RUU afterwards?

Thanks again, I'll stop asking stupid questions soon i promise lol!

You won't be able to go back to a 2.1 ROM as the one on shipped-roms is AMOLED only. You'll have to stick to 2.2

But I'm not sure if i have got an AMOLED screen or not!!! I plan on having a look at the box when i get home to see what that says. If i do have an AMOLED screen, can i downgrade from 2.2 to 2.1 using an RUU?
