It only streams after update whats on live and we have tv catchup for that. So any way for me to get th old myplayer back? And if I can will it still work?

They got told off by BBC because they're not 'approved'. Only works on 2.2 devices capable of playing flash now.

I saw the new UI and was like "ooh pretty" but then read the small print. NO MORE FUNCTIONALITY!

So I downgraded and hope the beeb can't block mobile access to it somehow.

Seriously I don't get what their problem is, it's free either way.

I was setting up my sisters Blade and downloaded myplayer, once I noticed that the bbc content was gone a quick google search and a download from 4share solved it.

Well I've gone to the darkside,while I was there I got that 3 version of Skype thats listed on the forum elsewhere so that even with no money or data at all I can still make skype calls with a 3 sim kept behind my back cover. I'll be Froyoing it next :-)

I went to 4shared and downloaded myplayer with my netbook. I then took the micro sd card from my phone and copied it to that. I then used an app manager from market to install it. It appears to be exactly the same as it was before updating. It even says it wants updating but I'll be ignoring that now.

figured it out now very strange, wouldnt download while my phone was plugged into usb??

I had to try a few times using different browsers. It kept saying that it was already being downloaded by my ip address.

You can use Titanium Backup to detach the app from the market so you won't get the update prompt again and prevent an accidental update in the future.

Nope.

He says he was just tapping into BBC streams already-encoded for low-res, small screen dumbphone devices (like some Nokias).

That simple.

That naughty and unauthorised.

But the nice people at the Beeb would seem* to feel that it might not present their work well enough and the "user experience" could have a few rough edges.

Auntie says if you can't see it nicely enough, you are not allowed to see it at all. (So I'd better keep quiet about the crappy lcd photoframe that thinks its a digital telly ... and the 4" black and white Sony that I simply don't want to throw out.)

*Actually, all they say publicly is that the app breaches their rules. They won't even say which one. Probably the unwritten one.

Cheers... thought I'd lost myplayer... restored from Titanium... and ut's back again. Can't freeze it as I'm on the freebie version, but will just have to remember to make sure I don't let it update again. Also, copied my Titanium folder off the SD onto the laptop.

Seems to be a widespread problem, at least with 2.1 - I have tried a few suggested fixes but it always ends up out of sync again after a few minutes. Is it any better on 2.2?
