Guest shawn0 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 It only streams after update whats on live and we have tv catchup for that. So any way for me to get th old myplayer back? And if I can will it still work?
Guest meinnit Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 They got told off by BBC because they're not 'approved'. Only works on 2.2 devices capable of playing flash now.
Guest dwl99 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 too late, already updated B) - anyone got the last working version's apk?
Guest AndyHibberd Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Did you not Titanium that sucker? Not sure about the forum rules on posting apks... I saw the new UI and was like "ooh pretty" but then read the small print. NO MORE FUNCTIONALITY! So I downgraded and hope the beeb can't block mobile access to it somehow. Seriously I don't get what their problem is, it's free either way. Andy

Guest shawn0 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 No backup :-( Could you possibly pm me a linkee for downloading a titanium backup version? I notice that on the myplayer comments they are saying that its still available on a site called "4share". But I hate going off market. B)
Guest AndyHibberd Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Come to the darkside.....lol.
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 +1 to this thread I was setting up my sisters Blade and downloaded myplayer, once I noticed that the bbc content was gone a quick google search and a download from 4share solved it.
Guest shawn0 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Come to the darkside.....lol. Well I've gone to the darkside, while I was there I got that 3 version of Skype thats listed on the forum elsewhere so that even with no money or data at all I can still make skype calls with a 3 sim kept behind my back cover. I'll be Froyoing it next :-)
Guest Magnets Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) I presume this guy was pulling the content to his own server and re-encoding it and streaming to each client? Edited November 20, 2010 by Magnets
Guest myfeetsmell Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Hi guys i made the mistake of updating too, but been looking for 4share and not having much luck, can anyone help

Guest shawn0 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Hi guys i made the mistake of updating too, but been looking for 4share and not having much luck, can anyone help I went to 4shared and downloaded myplayer with my netbook. I then took the micro sd card from my phone and copied it to that. I then used an app manager from market to install it. It appears to be exactly the same as it was before updating. It even says it wants updating but I'll be ignoring that now.

Thanks again guys Edited November 20, 2010 by myfeetsmell
Guest shawn0 Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Thanks for the hint mate, been trying that linkie but keeps failing as if its gone, unless there are that many peeps trying to download it ha ha I had to try a few times using different browsers. It kept saying that it was already being downloaded by my ip address.
Guest Acathla- Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 It even says it wants updating but I'll be ignoring that now. You can use Titanium Backup to detach the app from the market so you won't get the update prompt again and prevent an accidental update in the future.
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 I presume this guy was pulling the content to his own server and re-encoding it and streaming to each client? Nope. He says he was just tapping into BBC streams already-encoded for low-res, small screen dumbphone devices (like some Nokias). That simple. That naughty and unauthorised. But the nice people at the Beeb would seem* to feel that it might not present their work well enough and the "user experience" could have a few rough edges. http://davejohnston.posterous.com/?tag=beebplayer Auntie says if you can't see it nicely enough, you are not allowed to see it at all. (So I'd better keep quiet about the crappy lcd photoframe that thinks its a digital telly ... and the 4" black and white Sony that I simply don't want to throw out.) *Actually, all they say publicly is that the app breaches their rules. They won't even say which one. Probably the unwritten one.
Guest gidtf Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 How do you detatch the app from the market with Titanium Backup?
Guest ezablade Posted November 20, 2010 Report Posted November 20, 2010 Cheers... thought I'd lost myplayer... restored from Titanium... and ut's back again. Can't freeze it as I'm on the freebie version, but will just have to remember to make sure I don't let it update again. Also, copied my Titanium folder off the SD onto the laptop.
Guest Acathla- Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 How do you detatch the app from the market with Titanium Backup? Long Press on an app and you should have a detach from market option...
Guest malgiff10 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 How do you guys get around the out of sync sound? Or is that just me?
Guest dwl99 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 How do you guys get around the out of sync sound? Or is that just me? Seems to be a widespread problem, at least with 2.1 - I have tried a few suggested fixes but it always ends up out of sync again after a few minutes. Is it any better on 2.2?
Guest Acathla- Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 link dead now, re-up? Links not dead - I've just tested it.
