phone stuck on zte screen (upgrade to 2.2)

I have followed teh guides to upgrade to 2.2, however when rebooting the phone with the rom installed it gets stuck at the ZTE screen. It flashes on and off for a second, every few mins, but wont get past that stage.

I have carried out a few searchs and i cant find the same problem elsewhere.

Any ideas guys?

Managed to get another rom on the sd card and flash another and it works. Very strange.

Did you wipe the phone before hand? clear data/factory reset and clear cache before upgrading the rom. I did and I am running 2.2 with no problems

No, but what i did download the original rom i wanted and flash it again.

Worked fine the second time.

The flashing white ZTE (Quite Brilliant) screen occurs when the data/factory and cache partition are not wiped.
