Mine does that on some startups. So I find it best to check in task manager after each power on. When it happens - you can fix it by covering the light sensor (in the top left of the phone) until the keypad lights up. I don't know why it happens and I certainly don't know why that fixes it. I stole the solution from another thread on high cpu utilization! Some people blame the Gallery app that comes with the phone but I deleted mine and it still happens

All that means is that the OS is the only thing running, it doesnt mean its using 100% of your phones power, 100% of nothing is still nothing...geddit?

i see high 'android system' utilization. however if you then click on it, it gives you time durations. after many hours of being on (14h+), im seeing 2-3mins.

it seems to be 100% of running programs resource usage, rather than 100% of phone resources.

confusing, but that seems to be the case.

my battery is lasting well over 1.5days, so if it was taking 100% phone resources then it'd be flat within an hour or 2.

I left the house to pop out for a few mins and the phone was at 80% I came back home 30 mins later and it was down to 67% already....i checked it and GPS, WiFi etc was turned off

Install something that tells you the cpu occupancy of tasks. I use http://www.appbrain.com/app/task-manager/c...iak.taskmanager

It's small and simple.

My phone goes for days without needing a charge if I only use it lightly. In an overnight period, around 8 hours, I lose 3% so you definitely have something sapping battery if it's dropping that fast on standby.

Another thing to try is let the screen go off and after 30 seconds or so press one of the buttons (home or back). If the screen comes on then something is preventing your phone from sleeping.
