Really Sluggish Pinch to Zoom

I just bought this phone for my wife today, first thing I did was root it, get rid of all the bloatware and flash it with MCR r4. It's all running sweet now, really impressed. The only thing that is NOT impressing me is the performance of pinch-to-zoom in the browser (seems fine in other apps like Maps and Gallery), it is REALLY sluggish. Now admittedly I am used to using an HTC Desire but still, it's almost unusable in the browser. Anyone have the same problem or got a fix for this?

try a different broswer..opera..dolphin..skyfire, etc..

+1 on that! the android 2.1 browser IS really slow. either get to one of the 2.2 builds (I havent) or get somethinglike opera mobile (I have) which is really speedy with pinch to zoom

Opera Mobile on FroYo is fast and nice.
