Guest spartan11 Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 What do you mean?. Debranding = removing all firmware customizations by wireless company, such as start up and shut down screens, browser presets, etc., so that there is only original LG firmware. The phone is already unlocked and running the LG 2.1 upgrade.
Guest ilovelg Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Installing Open Europe/Baltic ROM should help :}

I meant it in the sense of, I run Quarx and that is debranded, apart from the bookmarks in the browser that can be removed with Mybookmarks. There are a few ROM'S that are unbranded, like < ilovelg > mentioned.
Guest spartan11 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 As suggested by ilovelg, I installed Open Europe 2.1 using the instructions in this forum and all branding is gone. For those with a branded phone, I noticed that using the 2.1 upgrade from the LG UK website will leave the phone branding on the phone, but using the Open Europe 2.1 upgrade will remove it.
