Has anyone experienced disconnection issues with the usb connection on their SF.

I'm currently running with the FLB 2.2 ROM, though I've had this problem with every single rom, which would suggest it's a phone or SD card fault.

Basically my phone connects fine to the PC. Drivers seem to be installed ok, everything is reported correctly in Device Manger. It is recognised and mounts correctly as USB Mass storage.

Except every now and then, when you plug it in it disconnects and reconnects rapidly, mounting and unmounting the SD card or alternatively, it will stay connected, then half way through a transfer (files or music) it just disconnects USB Mass storage, always 5-6 seconds into a transfer. The disconnection happens every time I transfer files - so I have resorted to taking the SD card out and using a reader to get the files on the card.

I'm using a San Disk 16gb Class 4, which works perfectly through a card reader, so I dont think it's that, unless its incompatible, but then I havent had any issues with apps running off the SD card, or any freezes, random reboots or anything?

I've tried it on another PC which also reproduces the same fault.

I thought it might be the cheap ass micro usb cables I was using, but the one supplied with the phone does exactly the same.

Do you think it's time to send this sucker back to Orange for a replacement or repair?

Also any advice which is better for getting a replacement, take it into an Orange shop or call Orange direct (I brought mine online).

ps: Its only a month or so old and I dont think the speaker phone has ever worked properly as people complain they can never hear me when I'm on it - though I have heard similar reports from other users?

Despite these issues it still a mighty fine piece of phone!

Doh - seems like I've just answered my own question here!

Put the original 2Gb card in and it works fine now. Stays connected while transferring, no random disconnects. So obviously not compatible with 16gb cards then?

Bum!
