Youre not bricked as long as you can get in to recovery so dont panic. Make sure you dont jump the gun on the dell logo. Sometimes it take 8-15 mins.

Can u get into recovery ? IF yes , try flashing another 1.6 ROM 1st b4 upgrading .... Kinda 'bricked' my streak a few times as well but the guides here helps alot

It can't boot with the wrong amss and it won't update to the official 2.2 on a recovery boot.

Have you installed a recovery or are you still on the original?

Try installing Koush's alternative recovery, then flash the amss, boot and system from the post "Official 2.2 Froyo Untouched"

Hi

I had the same "stuck at Dell Logo" problem after upgrade. Here is, what happened to me and how I resolved it. Hope, this helps others. As a sidenote, by figuring out the location of people having this problem, it appears that it happens preferably to Streaks sold in Germany through Media Markt (unlocked). I cannot claim this is true, but it appears so. Can we collect the evidence?

Anyway. Here is what happened.

I was on stock 1.6, which left me drooling for 2.2. I was considering Stevens' build, but I wanted to give the official update a go first (as an admin doing oncall, having the phone operational under all circumstances is a must for me...).

When I saw Stevens post linking to a leaked and unmodded 2.2 update, I followed his write procedure using fastboot (see thread elsewere). While the update itself went without problems, I was stuck at the Dell Logo. No factory reset or extended amount of time waiting, resolved the issue. Nor did all the tricks suggested in the forum.

While panicking a little, I read about everything written in forum about this issue B)

I stumbled over a link to a different ROM, called "Streak_309_0_00.pkg" - it can be found following a link in the aforementioned thread.

Size and md5sum of the ROM is:

Streak_309_0_00.pkg 157729397bytes

$ md5sum Streak_309_0_00.pkg

3731e8b933a7142a058153a53effd335 Streak_309_0_00.pkg

I removed the battery of the stuck phone, named the image above 'update.pkg' and placed it on the SD-card. Upon replacing SD-card and battery, I booted the phone into rescue-mode(press vol up and vol down, press power while keeping the volume buttons pressed ). I then used menu item 2 (Software upgrade via update.pkg on SD Card) to flash the ROM image.

After the flash-process completed (this takes time!), the phone rebooted several times and after it completed, I had a running froyo. No factory-reset.

Hope this helps...

Hello!

I had treid all this things... my dell is still running the Dell logo :,(

someone help me!

I updated my Streak (2.1) to Streakdroid Froyo 1.4.1 directly (flash amss & install update), almost all apps are force closed once entry the launcher.

In between the time I haved tried with some roms installation but failed, now my Streak only shows DELL logo during boot up and BLACK SCREEN when I try with update.pkg installation.

I want to do a clean installation once again, what should I do ?

1. install a old amss ? ( available in madaco ? )

2. install streak.recovery.new.img ? ( I have a stock one but not the new one, possible to get here ? )

3. install Paul's 1.6 rom or something else ?

Please help.... thanks a lot

I installed the official untouched 2.2 over AT&T official 1.6 (didn't read far enough before flashing the 3 files...) Was bricked at the Dell logo... Then tried some stuff (don't remember what as it was middle of the night by then) and got stuck in a boot-loop... I had no proper update file on micro-sd card and no way to write one until I bought an adapter (sd>micro-sd) the next day. All day is a long time to be w/o your phone, especially traveling and using it for staying on top of work stuff... I ended up flashing stock O2 1.6 recovery with fastboot and updating via package on sd card (written through adapter since I could not use phone as usb mass storage). Had things up and running no problem after that. If you can remember what build you were last at (baseband specifically) just flash the proper recovery with fastboot and update from sd after writing and renaming the matching update to sd. Good luck.

There's a lower-level flashing tool out there, see the White Streak is DIFFERENT thread for info... This will probably un-birck you if you can't get into fastboot mode. Take te battery out, wait a minute or two, and reinstall; then try power + camera and see if you can fastboot first. My Streak has been stuck in a few boot-loops and this has always worked for me.

Fixed!

Follow the Steve's guide. Install qualcom driver and run QDLTool.

Reboot and all ok.
