UK Froyo 2.2 Official Update - Failure yet again?

I have been looking with intent at this new Froyo update as I will be doing the same when I order my Streak next month, and as far as I can see, there has not been a perfect successful person managing a hassle free update.

With the problems of the 2.1 update, I was hoping them holding back this 2.2, they would test the nuts off it to make sure when its released to the general public there would be a lot of happy faces with nothing but praise.

Wishes did not come true, with so many people having nothing but problems, with everyone having the troubles of getting basic web pages to load.

Will there be a patch being released to fix these problems that have all surfaced? If that is so, will it be all fixed and working before the xmas time rush? I was holding off ordering my streak due to the outcome of this upgrade!

froyo 2.2 finally will come , is matter of time....

i only concern to use office froyo 2.2 or steve version froyo 2.2

now waiting steve revised official froyo to be ready

and ready for the donation on it....

Official Froyo 2.2 is out already though, I have seen several other posts with every single one having some problem or the other, with the webpage time-outs being a very general problem that everybody has been suffering with, which would mean the apps would not work either, which would render the phone quite useless IMO.

Is this going to be another failed release and eventually being pulled just like the 2.1, or is somebody going to finally sit down and sort out all these issues people are finding right now? Hopefully Dell wont go away into hiding again.......

The uk release started this morning. What you have been seeing, but not reading is that people were struggling by flashing the us version aimed at the beta streaks rather than waiting for the ota.

Theres one flaw in the froyo update, some websites don't work onwifi.

I was not aware that was what everyone was getting upto, I thought everybody was getting the official Froyo 2.2 OTA, as Dell said all UK unlocked customers would be getting from 15th in a 2 week phase.

No wonder everyone was facing problems, as Dell said in an FAQ to upgrading not to grab a download link from someone else!

When I buy an unlocked from Dell direct in a few weeks time, will the phones come pre-installed with 2.2, or will they come with 1.6 with an instant 2.2 when I switch the phone on for the first time?

The unlocked Streak is now on the US site showing that it comes with 2.2 so I'd assume yours will also come with it pre-installed...
