Guest flatnote31 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 Paul's been having fun with the Commtiva N700 all day long (from what I could see on Twitter) Now, if we compare the hardware on the Commtiva and that on the Blade, they're quite similar! Same processor, Qualcom MS7227, 512 RAM, Capacitive Touch screen with 800x480 resolution, WiFi, 3G, 3.2MP Camera, but the N700 has a front camera... Now, to me, it looks like the N700 is a Blade with 7" instead of 3.5" ..... any chance for porting the 2.6.32 kernel from the N700 to the Blade and building Froyo on it?

I emailed the company who make this asking for the open source, they say it's compiled right out of AOSP so in theory if it was going to happen for the SF it probably already would have.

It's a blade with a 7" screen and a bigger battery Saves them time porting from the Chinese Blade ( R4g and S.Hyde) and the G2 (Flb)

Guest rjm2k Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Really.....no mods....so easy then....sounds Like B******* ... Anyway good try....R B) Yeah, I'm a bit sceptical too based on past experience with other manufacturers! Though if it is based on a QC Reference platform there's no reason the source wouldn't already be there. "Hi, can you please point me to the GPL open kernel source for the N700? " "All the GPL code for Android can be found on the Android developers website. The tablet is running vanilla froyo 2.2." "Great thanks, so there are no kernel modifications on top of the stock kernel in the ASOP tree?" "No, we have not modified the kernel." Edited November 24, 2010 by rjm2k
