Always sorry to see a dev drop a device.. Seriously though I didn't know anyone was insulting it, maybe a typo here and there but :)

Would personally like to say thanks to Kendon for his work..I've been on his ROM now for last week or so and hope to stay on it till 2.2 is resolved..come back to us Kendon..I for one love your ROM as I'm sure do many others>>

This ROM is based upon the Hungarian T-Mobile release. The older one from the French one. Not installed it though. I think that will be the main change.

To be perfectly frank here, I think the actual reason he gave up is because their forum is no competition for Modaco. Yes the ROM was great, but Modaco is like the home of the San Francisco now and they would never be able to catch up.

I mean, who would completely give up development just because one person didn't name it properly? It's not the real reason.

I think he's just frustrated that the VillianRom forums aren't as popular as Modaco.

Either way, it's a shame though. B)

Come on, such kinds of negative and suggestive comments are not going to help, and show a lack of respect for developers like kendon. It's not about competition, but on getting good ROMs out, and whether it is via MoDaCo or VillainROM doesn't matter.

I have just registered at VillainROM as well, and much appreciate the work kendon is doing, also the help he has been giving with the previous release and A2SD.

I've been using v 1.01 for about a week now and it seems to be the best one I've tried so far. It's very fast and the phone runs smooth as silk so I appreciate the effort in producing and distributing it. It would be a shame if development been discontinued over a misunderstanding - it's easy to criticise if something isn't "perfect" but all the developers give up a lot of time in doing this.

Has anyone downloaded/loaded 1.1 - are there any significant changes? I'm at work so won't get a chance until later.

Ok, but bashing a friendly and useful developer isn't going to persuade him to pick it up again. I never installed BladeVillain, but from all accounts he did a great job on it.

If people spent this much energy being positive, and encouraging, then we'd have another great guy helping us out.

It is a shame, BV was my preferred 2.1 ROM and still had more potential.

What a pity that kendon is unhappy, because I have just installed the ROM and it flies. Very fast and responsive feel, A2SD works nicely, fancy widget etc also, no need for 3G connection first for the market. I think I will leave Froyo for the moment and go to this one!

That's fair enough - asim18's post was pretty reasonable. I just take issue at playground tit-for-tat name calling and trolling.

Come on, leave the conspiracy theories out of it. Do you really think a developer would destroy his reputation by doing something like that?

well hes not a professional developer with a huge brand and P+L statement to lose over it is he? he s som guy, or kid who made a custom rom and then went all whiney when someone mispelled his name. hardly the actions of an adult or a professional business entity is it?

a knee jerk reaction is to be expected and has been provided and who knows what could be on the rom

Well to be honest, I found him to be a very intelligent and very helpful guy, and I'd trust him to know what he's doing. But each to their own.
