Guest twe Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Yep just got him to try the camera again, it works with no force closes in 720p. He was able to get to the forums here at modaco, index of the board, but we have really poor signal at work so difficult to get anywhere with that just yet. He will check tonight. Also funny when he tried to browse the Streak section, he got a message from orangeworld saying that its 18+ content and that he has to get it unlocked to see it. He is wondering what is meant to happen or if he wasn't even meant to get to the index of this board? I haven't kept up to date yet as I am waiting for the rebel sim firmware update or will try to get my phone unlocked from O2. Edited November 23, 2010 by twe
Guest Loconinja Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 I have the 11548 build. Is it worth flashing this one instead? This is technically the build my Streak SHOULD have, is it not? (UK original Dell unlocked).

I thought that was the case, but others were having issues. it narrows things down quite a bit. I'm still fairly convinced its an ipv4/6 issue, It maybe that its going through oranges proxy server so the server is eliminating the redirects issue for him, which sounds more likely. Loconinja I find the Baseband gives me better signal on o2 with this version that the 309 that came with 11548 Edited November 23, 2010 by fards
Guest adzman808 Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 for what's worth when i tried the "other" official build (flashed by fastboot img files & OP was Steve) i only had the redirect problem on wifi also wifi settings on the phone showed my home network as a WPS connection as well as the standard WEP2 encrypted connection which 2.1 o2 & steve's builds have never done... (they've only shown the WEP2 connection) not sure what this relates to, but if it helps direct more knowledable minds than mine (@ Fards B)) then great, if not my post count just went up a bit for sweet fa !!!
Guest Loconinja Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Loconinja I find the Baseband gives me better signal on o2 with this version that the 309 that came with 11548 When I try and flash this one from 11548 I get a FOTA mismatch error. Which recovery do I need to flash before I can flash 12332? Edited November 23, 2010 by Loconinja
Guest jeremy81 Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) I've tried both this and the other build as well and have the redirect problem on Wi-Fi and 3G. I have AT&T Wireless and DSL. Another thing of interest is that about half of the sites that I visit that get the redirect error I can get to if I can find the force full site/desktop version link and bookmark it. Using a browser that allows you to set it to appear as a desktop browser helps with some but not all of the sites. Edited November 23, 2010 by jeremy81
Guest BigBlue007 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) interesting, so it maybe wifi only that's playing up.. I thought that was the case, but others were having issues. it narrows things down quite a bit. I'm still fairly convinced its an ipv4/6 issue, It maybe that its going through oranges proxy server so the server is eliminating the redirects issue for him, which sounds more likely. Maybe the following helps to narrow down the issue even more: I (and most other people I know of with that issue) also only have the issue when using WLAN, not via 3G. To solve the issue, I changed the WLAN IP settings to "manual". I then entered a valid IP, sub net mask, and my router's IP as DNS server, but as "Gateway" I entered the IP adress of my DSL provider's gateway which I can see in my router's setup. Normally you would enter your router's IP here as well, but when doing so, the issue was still there (as with DHCP, which also assigns the router's IP as gateway). The only issue that I had with this solution was that after a few minutes of succesfull and error-free surfing, the WLAN connection dropped and wasn't re-esablished before I changed IP settings back to DHCP. I am quite sure that this was because my DSL provider blocks its gateway for direct access by any other devices than the router. Which makes (from their point of view) absolutely sense. B) Obviously it took some minutes for their system to realize that an invalid device accessed their gateway. Anyway, the issue is obviously depending on the fact whether the gateway that is being used is the one in one's home router or the one from the provider. Since that issue wasn't there before Froyo, Dell obviously messed up something, but maybe it helps to find out what it is. :) Edited November 24, 2010 by BigBlue007
Guest AuirR Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I got the same problem on 315. B)
Guest twe Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) He can't access the modaco website via WLAN, only 3G data..... Quite sad. Think he is going to change to steves release. Edited November 24, 2010 by twe
Guest j7seven Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I've tried to update my direct-from-Dell Streak this morning (from the stock 1.6), but it's still telling me it's up to date. So friggin' annoying!
Guest jeffrey2000 Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Yeh I have the same, no update for me yet, i'm in Holland and it's not locked to any provider but didn't show an update for me.
