Guest volatile_ink Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Hi Forum, I'm using OrangeUK and have a problem with network selection. The phone will switch to 3G if a strong enough signal is available otherwise it will switch to GPRS which causes problems with incoming calls when data is being downloaded/synced in the background. Thing is, if I switch to WCDMA then the phone will find a 3G/Edge signal albeit a weaker one than the GPRS signal. I've tried accessing the 'hidden' menu, flashing radios and searched the forums and market places. Does anyone know of any way to prevent the phone from using GPRS? If data is available I'd like to use the high-speed networks (even if the signal is weaker). If 3g is not available, then just enable GSM. Using the WCDMA Only option is not an option either as I often go to areas where there is no 3G/EDGE/HSDPA or even GPRS, just GSM so will loose all connection. Thanks. Guest subhramani Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I would like to know about that as well. I want my signal to stay on 3G till the point where it is no more available.
