StreakDroid 1.4.6 Annoncement

I noticed the build.prop is a GB one and is using the Google Passion fingerprint. Will this cause us US Streakers to miss out on any apps? Also, why this fingerprint instead of the official Dell 2.2 one?

I got things back up and running on 4399! One superboot later, I installed ROM Manager and flashed clockworkmod.

Can I just grab 1.4.6 and flash using ROM Manager?

Running 1.4.6 I have the dock settings configured to ask me about switching the devices speaker off when I put it on the dock.

Every time I do this, no matter if I leave the internal speaker on or not, I have no audio output from the internal speaker or the speakers attached to the dock.

Here's the funny thing, if I make a call, with the phone still in the dock, the speakers attached to the dock jump to life and work until I remove the phone from the dock.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have an idea how to fix it so that the dock speakers work without me making a call first?

Thanks in advance.

Aw hell.

Well, I'm on 2.2 with baseband GAUSB1A130500-US and OEM version GAUSB1A130500, kernel 2.6.32.9-perf

I think I'll stay here for a while before trying to get back up to your build, Steve ;)

ok folks for those of you with gps issues can you try the following update zip. its a small update that just changes some librarys, seems to wkr fine here even with assisted and wifi location turned off,

http://downloads.streakdroid.com/gpsfix.zip

I didn't pay too much attention about the fixes on top of 1.4.6. I only noticed 720P video record

beside this one. Any other important fixes can be applied on top of 1.4.6.

I'm pretty sure this is the answer to it. But it can be corrected if I am wrong.

Steve adapted FroYo 2.2 from a Nexus build with Dell's drivers. Right now 2.2 can't be built off of the official source because it is missing audio libs. Hence the Passion fingerprint in the build.prop. The build.prop references GB vs. US since most of these guys, Steve included, are in the UK. Hence the O2 references as well.

Remember Steve's FroYo was out before Dell even came close to a release. Steve's version was released a little over a month and a half after 2.1 was released from O2. Even then the kernel on his first version was the 2.1 kernel from the O2 builds. I believe

That might be wrong but I pieced together bits and pieces from posts Steve was making during the development and build process.

Just tried to flash this .zip in clockwork. Threw a...

E: Error in /sdcard/.../gpsfix.zip

(Status 7)

Installation aborted.

Tried to reboot after, stuck on dell logo. (left on for 15 min)

Wiped the whole system clean (Factory reset), reflash 1.4.6...booted, then ran gpsfix again (redownloaded gpsfix.zip also)

Same exact error...

Its not based on n1. But that fingerprint was working with market when the dell froyo ones weren't.

Exact same issue here. Stuck on Dell boot logo after trying to run this and a factory reset doesn't help.

Soory guys for this question butis it correct that the 4G not works with V.1.4.6 from Steve the Master !!!!!

Not exactly sure what you mean as the Dell Streak is not 4G. If you mean HSDPA sometimes called '3.5G' then it DOES support it but I believe this build doesn't show the 'H' just '3G'. So even though it says 3G it could be connected at HSDPA speeds. There is a supposed fix for this suggested by Fards at the following page (scroll down near the bottom)

Enable 'H' icon.

Guest justxroro

has anyone tried removing "removeapps.sh" for a vanilla build? if so, what exactly is taken out? (id love to keep all the amazingness steve has done, but id like to do away with all the apps).

my reason for wanting to try a vanilla build is im still having trouble with random slowdowns. i thought it mightve been due to something i installed so i factory reset (1.4.6) without installing any apps and half a day later i have the random slow downs again (they only occur when i unlock my streak and remain until i lock it again).

After some great help from the guys in #dellstreak, I got updated to 1.4.6. So, thanks for that, guys!

I'm getting an issue where the touch screen goes unresponsive. Haven't narrowed down a cause, yet, but the screen suddenly just stops responding to touch inputs and the only thing that fixes it is a reboot. Anybody else having this?

This ROM is heavily updated and still being developed at a fairly rapid pace.

The update process is now very simple to do but it does require that you flash a new baseband

IF YOU ARE USING A REBELSIM AND DONT NEED WIFI TETHERING PLEASE STICK WITH V1.1.1 AS FLASHING THIS ROM WITHOUT BASEBAND WOULD CAUSE FLASHING LEDS SYNDROME - AND REBEL SIM CANT WORK WITH NEW BASEBAND AS YET

We now have a nice new website blog for streakdroid - check it out and help me populate the wiki with faqs and get in the forums :) sites @ http://www.streakdroid.com

Most Recent Version: v1.4.6

Known Issues:

Accelerometer is dodgy at times but i cant pin down the issue - usually going into settings > display and toggling auto rotate on and off fixes

Notificaions still has issues, this can be bypassed by setting device to silent and setting ringtone then turning ringer back on

------------------

Note 1:

Fards tweaks are automaticly enabled on first boot, to make sure they apply simply reboot your streak after first boot has completed. if you notice problems with data after this create a BLANK file in /system/etc called use.empty.prop and reboot and the edits will be disabled after a further restart.

Note 2:

although this change *SHOULD* allow hotswaping the memory card you should ALWAYS unmount the card in settings > memory first before swapping or android may get a little upset

Copy the update zip to your memory card first Steps 2-4 are only needed if you are coming from a build OLDER than 1.2 2. Power down your streak and boot into fastboot do this by pressing power until the keypad lights come on then HOLD camera until you get to a white screen, then tap on the fastboot text in top right corner, 3. Connect your streak to pc - the text on streak should change to FASTBOOT_MODE. you should place the amss.mbn file into the same folder as fastboot on your pc run the following commands from command prompt on your pc Windows:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
Linux
fastboot flash amss amss.mbn
4. Type the following commands to reboot your streak - again alow it to boot into the main ui - you will lose network connection for the moment, this is fine, also streak WILL reboot twice before booting, again this is normal Windows:
fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
Linux
fastboot reboot

5. Once your device has booted shut down again and boot into clockwork recovery by doing the following

boot to recovery as per step 1 then choose option 2.

6. Flash the 1.4.5 update zip

7. reboot

This can be rooted using universal androot but could take 2 attempts
