6601 unable to update to 4399

On locked ATT 6601.

So, in the process of upgrading... hitting the same snag as when i tried this weeks ago.

1. I flash stock.recovery.img(for 4399) via fastboot... Says its successful.

2. Boot up into recovery mode, choose option 2 to update via Pkg (I have the 4399 rom on the /sdcard renamed to Update.pkg)

3. Leds start blinking, get to that message "Android system recovery... warning all data will be erased. It lists the 21 baseband at the top - so I assume the recovery.img is getting flashed correctly.

4. At this screen, i know at the bottom should be an image of a box with a progress bar below it - that's not showing up, its just blank on the bottom half of the screen.

5. After a couple minutes, streak reboots - good ol' 6601 still there like nothing ever happened.

Been at this for a while trying to search for a similar problem - and only found where people had this issue and then with no resolution. So hopefully here may have some insight? I know this isn't this complicated... but following the guide to a T and gettin no where fast...

4339 isnt an upgrade for 6601

I know its not an "upgrade" but it is the first step to get to upgrade to 8105 from an att streak isn't it? Or you mean i'm not using the correct recovery/rom combo here? Any insight is greatly appreciated. B) i'm using exactly whats in homeiss guide.

Do you have the White Dell Streak by any chance? If so, check the thread I just started in the forum. You just described the exact same problem I was having.

No, I bought it about a week after it was released... but yeah I was reading those posts with the white streaks and seemed like its just like my issue (difference being though I don't gt an error, just blank at the bottom of the recovery screen). i'll keep on your post and see if anything gets resolved. Thanks.
