Guest ozborn Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 ROM Guru's please have mercy on me B) It is rare for me to post a question in a forum such as this. The wealth of information found here has allowed me to mod my phone without any problems or having to ask any questions, that is up until yesterday... My dilemma- Upgraded from factory AT&T 1.6 to Stephen Hyde's 2.2 Guide Used Yesterday I managed to break my screen. Streaks of color here and there, completely wasted. It appears the touch screen is fully functional as it recognized my unlock pattern and I haphazardly launched Pandora. I called Dell and told them the screen was broken and they offered me a 1 time free swap. This is great but I am worried about the firmware mod being on the phone will void my warranty. Help needed: Restore back to AT&T 1.6 without depending on the display of the phone. (Hopefully erasing any evidence or the mod) The biggest hurdle being the steps to go from O2 1.6 to AT&T 1.6 mentions the use of Root Explorer from the market. If someone can assist I will happily compensate an individual, however I would hope that said individual might entertain my donating to the site supporting these forums in lieu of individual compensation.
Guest Fone_Fanatic Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I don't think they'll notice. I've sent many phones back with custom roms and never had an issue. With big companies like this, they just verify the screen is broken and throw it in a bin. Then if they decide to repair it and sell it as a refurb they'll put a new screen and put the proper build on it they want. I wouldn't be too worried about it and just send it in.
