Chaos around flashing

Hi Folks,

I have been reading this forum long time ago and I see, there is a big chaos.

There are several ROMs and versions and nobody knows, after flashing the parts of the ROM (baseband, dsp etc)

what the hell would be happen. Stucking the Dell logo or not, beeing 3G or not, etc.?

I'm not a newbie in the flashing procedure but I'm affraid of newly installed ROM again and again except that I have to use my phone

frequently.

After reading 1000 posts i haven't the faintest idea what could I do when I want to update my 2.2 v1 to 1.4.5 (ot stock 2.2) without sticking my system in?
