Thanks! It works really well!

PS: I had a strange problem with the installation through recovery, it didn't work and corrupted my camera.apk. I had to delete and install this with adb push and then worked great.

Other than the interface, what are the differences between the leaked bins' Camera.apk and the Liquid Metal (they should've called it the Mercury TBH) Camera.apk?

Nothing new in it. Same options but a different presentation/interface.

Lol, as people have said it's not working through recovery. use "adb push Camera.apk /system/app/"

two things I wish we had was:

1) Stabilize shot mode (using accelerometer to detect stability before taking picture

2) Fix the center area having a slightly red hue. Most noticeable when taking pictures in bright light where there's a lot of white. (like of snow).

You must put the apk file in the same folder of adb :P

...sorry, I thought that was common knowledge >_<

New camera has some new options which do nothing. Like 720p video mode - it will still shoot in 480p (:

If we get that kernel source, maybe we can get 720p on everything else :P

Strange how the recovery flash doesn't work. Push works fine.

Liking the tap screen to take picture feature. Focuses that way too.

Edit:

Video taking mode doesn't have a on screen video button. I can't record with my keyboard map. Bummer.

xaue, it's about what happens on shutdown. The actual recovery flash works fine.

Also; regarding 720p video, if the Liquid/E shot at 720p, the framerates would be way too low, especially without a good OC kernel. Maybe after that's introduced it'll be possible, but we still have to wait for Acer on it.

Pretty sure the video encoding and decoding is not handled by the 768 MHz application processor. The Liquid will work fine.

Oh if someone can remap the video record function to the focus button, I can actually use this :P. Not sure how straight forward that would be though.

Mmh. Hopefully you're right. I'm just regurgitating information I read elsewhere on this forum. Only time will tell.

CPU does NOT do ANY of encoding/decoding. GPU (video card) does. And it is NOT affected by under-clocking CPU.

I recall there's a Camera clock from reading the 720p porting posts. So technically it's not the GPU being overclocked, but something else entirely. The GPU is supposed to be non overclockable or something. Anyways that's just what I read.

I can test sign, but if I push the sigs wont match... Not sure what I'm supposed to do

There's something that looks like this:

.sparse-switch

0x4 -> :sswitch_3

0x18 -> :sswitch_4

0x19 -> :sswitch_4

0x1b -> :sswitch_1

0x50 -> :sswitch_0

0x52 -> :sswitch_2

.end sparse-switch

This looks like one of the keycode code blocks... Not sure how to repack this to work though...

Camera.smali and VideoCamera.smali

Push in recovery? I am pretty clueless when it comes to modifying apks...

Edit: this wasn't it :P

If someone can figure it out it would be nice.

I use my Camera button as Media_Next.
