If it's true, then... WOOT.

Hope somebody here can remove the 512 Mb check to make it workin' on traditional liquid.

I hope there will be a version for old Liquid. These E ROMs eat too much of free mem. Got last leak and constantly 20MB of RAM only. That suck.

Free RAM is a wasted RAM when it can be used for caches and all that stuff, but current E leaks just spend it on some bullshit like Acer Home (which still works even if you switch UI and eats at least 15 megs and CAN NOT BE KILLED) and leak RAM through the time to the point nothing works smoothly and every Activity needs to be shut down and restarted on every transition.

That does not fix memory leaks by system itself.

If it's not on the phone, how can it cause memory issues? o.o

Because Acer Home is not leaking. You know, there's other stuff inside like system libraries, drivers, etc.

Indeed, I've experienced memory leaks as well. One telltale sign that it's time to reboot the phone is that your home launcher is killed whenever you open another app. At best, memory leaks are caused by unoptimized libraries and/or apps, and can be remedied by rewriting/replacing said libraries or uninstalling said apps. At worst, memory leaks are caused by the kernel; this can only be remedied by installing a boot.img with a custom kernel (like Roggin's/Xian's CM port).

...you.. just said it was due to Acer Home?

I'll try to clarify: the majority of memory leaks in the FroYo bins are caused by new frameworks, libraries, and possibly even kernel additions, most of which are meant exclusively for Breeze UI and its components (like the bubble notification), the same way, for example, HTC included additional frameworks and libraries into its devices' ROMs purely for running Sense UI elements. However, these faulty implementations continue to run and leak memory even if Breeze UI is disabled or uninstalled. So basically, the leaks are caused by "features" that Breeze UI uses, but they don't stop leaking memory, even if Breeze UI is removed from the device.

That means these ROMs do both things - put some apps in memory AND leak RAM in system parts. App can't leak memory - it's in Java and is easily killed when needed. Leaks in system libs (in Linux ones) can not be auto-fixed by any means.
