Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 There may be a short wait while the load balancing software determines the best kitchen to serve your ROM. The kitchen should appear below within 20 seconds.

Guest captainsensible Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Hmmm, ok, but which USB driver am I updating?
Guest BiggerH Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Android newbie here Does one have to 'root' the device first before installing this ROM? (I saw a previous thread of yours showing VISIONary installation) Many thanks Paul for your hard work - definitely worth a subscription!

Guest captainsensible Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Hmmm, thats what I thought, but when I point at the driver folder Windows says it cannot find a driver for the device. Am using Windows 7 64 bit if that makes any difference.

Am using Windows 7 64 bit if that makes any difference. I've only tested on x86 i'm afraid... I thought it should work on x64 tho? P
Guest captainsensible Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Have managed to try and override the installation of the driver but on Windows 64 bit it definitely doesn't work - it says it needs a 64 bit compatible driver!
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Kitchen online. More goodies to follow. B) P
Guest DrSuave Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Kitchen online. More goodies to follow. B) P Fantastic :) Grrr still waiting for delivery!! Think the warehouse boys might know I am waiting for a package as I go see them every 10 mins!! PMSL
Guest matneee Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) Have managed to try and override the installation of the driver but on Windows 64 bit it definitely doesn't work - it says it needs a 64 bit compatible driver! Hmm. It worked with Win7 x64 pro for me (Alienware m11x with SU7300 processor). Once I'd put the vega in debug mode to bring Android Developer Bride up in device manager (i.e. step 1 of the installation instructions), the driver took without complaint (well, apart from the 'Unsigned' report). Anyway, loving this a lot. Can't thank you enough Paul B) Edited November 25, 2010 by matneee
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Coming up shortly... a test 'Performance Pack' (in the kitchen only initially). My device feels a lot quicker since applying it...
Guest 5c00ter Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Any impact to applying the 1.04 update (when it's available) after instaling of this custom rom?
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Yeah, it'll wipe the custom stuff I imagine. Let's see when it arrives. B) P
Guest x3noc Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Hi Paul, I've had my Vega now for 30 mins :-) I've updated it and now want all the rest of the goodies. As a previous Folio owner i can confirm this looks much better so far... I've downloaded, unpacked and started to install.... I've got 2 process adb-windows.exe running and this in my command prompt: * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 * * daemon started successfully * I have a small beatle? symbol on my Vega but nothing else happens.... How long should i wait for the reboot? I've tried to manually run "adb-windows.exe wait-for-device" but this is just hanging so i'm guessing its a driver problem for adb-windows.exe. I dont see it in device manager listed under anything. Any ideas where the device driver is added? Thanks Jason
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Yeah, it's not seeing your device, definitely a driver problem. It's added under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' IIRC. P
Guest captainsensible Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I am not seeing ADB at all in my device manager - and debugging is on B)
Guest x3noc Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Hi Again, Do we need to install the Android SDK to add the driver / device? My device manager only spots a new mass storage device.
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 No. If it only sees a new mass storage device, that sounds like you haven't enabled USB debugging. P
Guest x3noc Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 No. If it only sees a new mass storage device, that sounds like you haven't enabled USB debugging. P If that was the case then surely i wouldnt see the debugging symbol on the status bar of the Vega?
