Advent Vega Help PLZ........

Hi all,just a few queries i would like to get clarified,i have just got my Vega,yesterday and have already noticed there are firmware updates on their site,what i want to know is which version is my vega and do i need to do these,i have looked at my system info and it states EC ver 1.7.2,also i transferred an avi video to my vega and it wouldnt play,anyone have any ideas what movie file formats this thing actually plays,any help would be much appreciated and i really hope someone can help me,Thanks.

PS,where is the app store?
