Guest RedSlug Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 looks like it... Maybe they should have taken you up on your offer of testing lol
Guest fards Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I know there are dell employees on here...
Guest adzman808 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 so that cr.ap about us all having a beta version was cr.ap then? what a surprise !! do we have a fix for the browser issue or is this something that dell have got to do? i googled it (google is my friend) & it's a problem that a few android platforms have faced... ppl seem to have work-a-rounds that involve proxy config or dns the problem intrigues me... & the dell build does seem a reasonable effort in terms of functionality (still the only build i've seen with native tethering functioning, along with both cameras, no browser / markets FCs) but sadly the build is dog slow & you can't go anywhere on the internet, unless you're using your data package which is super pants, as the USP for android is the flash compatibility, which works best over wifi Fards keep us all posted ... Thanks
Guest adzman808 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 has anyone tried using the host file to resolve the official browser redirects? eg 127.0.0.1 localhost 94.23.256.258 http://android.modaco.com (not that you're gonna wanna do this for every single web site, but be interesting to see if it helps)

Guest fards Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Cheese straws? ? I've had a great idea; a couple of us could get sent a looking glass each when dell want them #properly# beta testing... B-)
Guest untrueparadox Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 it feels to me like the dell testers dont even use the streak on a daily basis. you'd have to be an idiot to miss the redirect problems.
Guest AuirR Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) Too many versions are producting. 00 version is a miss. They feel very sorry. I think dell will provide OTA upgrade later. (after thanksgiving vacation?) As I know, O2 official froyo is ok. And anyway, you are the best and professional testers. Thanks a lot!! :P Edited November 26, 2010 by AuirR
Guest fards Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 AuiR do you know something we don't ? DellHomeUK just posted We’re continuing to work with O2 to deliver the update, and expect this to start in mid-December #dellstreak
Guest Tim6772 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 O2's official line is one of "we're still waiting for Dell to supply 2.2 for internal testing" The few friends i have within O2's tech division know nothing either, so more BS??
Guest adzman808 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 has anyone with more skills than me (which is all of you) tried typing about:debug into the stock dell browser & playing with the setting to resolve the redirects problems? i suspect this will do f all beacuse the problem is not the broswer (a lot of ppl don't get the issue on data) Cheers more info http://www.streaksmart.com/2010/07/how-to-...ell-streak.html

Guest kostaver Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GAUSB1A110700 ...just tried the link you indicated but it points to "Streak_315_12332_00.pkg" (the one I used a few days ago to update my device, i imagine...), there's no "Streak_315_00_12332_00.pkg" around...
