Guest 5c00ter Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 HELP ! Ok, I've installed 1.04 successfully onto the Vega. But I've hit a brickwall. I can't get r2 custom rom installed. Activated the USB debugging mode, I can see the Beetle no problems there. Plug the USB cable into the Vega and then from Win XP, under device manager, USB Controllers I can no longer see "Android Debug Bridge Interface" all I see is: USB Composite Device USB Mass Storage Device USB Root Hub Here's some info about the installed kernel: Kernel version: 2.6.32.9_P10_v1.04_20101125_DIX_UK Build number: harmony 2.2 FRF91 20101123.172729 EC version: 1.7.2 I've followed the instructions to the letter from the original post, but without the "Android Debug Bridge Interface" showing up, the update script obviously fails. Any ideas peeps?

Any ideas peeps? Try deleting the usb drivers and reinstalling - only a suggestion (still waiting for DHL to deliver). Had similar thing with HTC hero and reinstalling drivers worked.

Had similar thing with HTC hero and reinstalling drivers worked. Yeah, I had tried that one (thanks for the suggestion) but still no "Android Debug Bridge Interface" showing up.
Guest 5c00ter Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Just tried r2 and had no luck. First of all the batch file had a "./" infront of each adb command, which caused the batch to fail on XP. r1 did not have this. I amended the batch to remove these and the proces went well, but on re-boot I initially got the small Android text and nothing any more. I re-booted several times and waited 5+ minutes and only got a blank screen. Thankfully the 1.04 restore worked OK. Anyone else have these problems? John Are you seeing the "Android Debug Bridge Interface" under your USB controller section (in device manager)?
Guest debs626 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) I'm on 1.04 now and having problems getting r2 I dont see ADB in device manager Also, I wonder if someone could test iplayer on 1.03 (without the r1) as its still not working on 1.04 tia :P Edited November 25, 2010 by debs626
Guest JohnMetz Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Are you seeing the "Android Debug Bridge Interface" under your USB controller section (in device manager)? Nothing in the USB, but I am seeing a section called "Android phone" with a value "Android Composite ADB Interface". My Vega is definately showing the debug symbol in the info bar and I did previously use this laptop to install r1.
Guest 5c00ter Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Alrighty peeps... the Performance Pack is back online for r4! I'm going to create a seperate topic for the discussion... P Any ideas why "Android Debug Bridge Interface" is no longer showing after upgrading to 1.04?
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 No idea, that's very strange indeed! You get the little icon at the top of the screen? Have you done a 'scan for new hardware' in Device Manager? P

Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Have you tried installing 1.04? Maybe it's stuck in some weird mode? :P P
Guest 5c00ter Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Have you tried installing 1.04? Maybe it's stuck in some weird mode? :P P I'm already at 1.04. Did you mean try re-installing 1.04?

Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I wonder if the device ID changed somehow in the update? P

Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Hmmm, same as the device I can connect to fine in OSX... Weird, how about flashing 1.02 back on and doing the same to compare? P
Guest 5c00ter Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 just tried running the linux script again and still the same, daemon starts and thats it Yep. Ditto. The AdventVega guys may have changed something between 1.02/1.03 and 1.04. Everything worked with 1.03 and r1 custom rom.
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 The Windows drivers in my bundle have the following: [Google.NTx86] ;NVIDIA Tegra %SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0955&PID_7000 %CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&MI_01 Which seems to match? How strange... weird it doesn't show up to Windows at all when it's clearly appearing in Linux? :P P
Guest Paul Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Just to clarify, nothing appearing under 'Android Phone' category in Device Manager? P
