Help for us Noobs.

Hi guys, been trying now for 6 hours to get my Vega to accept the custom ROM, with no luck, could someone post (if you have the time) in plain English how to go about it for us Noobs to the Android scene.

As a for instance I have never used a cmd line prompt, so would appreciate a idiots guide, so to speak, we all had to learn once.

I'm happy to help.

perhaps if you start with the installation guide from Pauls thread, and let me know where you are getting stuck. I'll fill in the gaps if I can.

Installation

To install this ROM:

* Ensure you have USB debugging enabled on your device (enabled in Settings->Applications->Development)

* If you are using Windows, your USB 'Android Developer Bridge' driver MUST be the one included in this download (use 'Have Disk' functionality in device manager to change if required)

* Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and extract on your Windows PC, Linux PC or Mac

* Connect your device to your PC

* At a command prompt / terminal, ensure you are in the directory you extracted the files, and run 'install-windows.bat', './install-linux.sh' or './install-mac.sh' as appropriate

* Wait for your device to reboot! smile.gif

HI ! I own the POV Mobii aswell and i was unable to flash any ROM until i discovered that the USB work in HOST mode and not SLAVE ! To do so you have to install an APK form here http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...slave-switcher/

Just one follow on question, is this the ROM here (POV ROM on manufactures site) to reset the mobii back to stock if something goes wrong? Just making sure I have a back door in the (hopefully) unlikely event that issues arise's, the missus would kill me.....

I've never had to use cmd line prompt when installing custom ROM, all you have to do is double click the install-windows.bat file (After you have your Vega connected with USB debugging enabled and installed the drivers from the custom rom pack). If you have version 1.09 you can alternatively get the rom addon from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931337 - it really is as easy as it can get (includes market and all)
