Guest jugglerb Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Hi - is it confirmed that the Vega contains no GPS hardware? Has anyone tried connecting a Bluetooth GPS and using Google Navigation? Not sure GPS is important for this type of device but would be nice to know.
Guest JohnMetz Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 hi This is what I have been trying to do, but I cannot get bluetooth to see anything at all at the moment. Once that is fixed, there do seem to be a number of utilities on the market place which would seem to allow an external GPS to be used. John
Guest andybarker Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Looks like it works, with an update. See http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...4226/bluetooth/
Guest amarko5 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Hi Paul I did download a couple of bluetooth gps apps. Now i am a little unsure what they do. I downloaded bluetooth gps provider and another called bluetooth gps - which has a nice satellite usee interface. I will try to uninstall them to see what really gets used. Will let you know later John Neither of the above installed = no BT GPS ,, bluetooth section can see it but nothing seems to be able to use it . Bluetooth GPS installed ---- will give you location in google but NOT in navigon software (well it doesn't on mine) Bluetooth GPS Provider installed --- gives location in google maps AND Navigon so seems to be the better of the two (again for me anyway) Hope this helps cos the vega makes a mean 10.1 inch satnav LOL so i now have bluetooth gps provider installed and my trusty old BT GPS works like a charm thanks to all involved

I just keep getting Foce Closure
Guest swarrans Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 What version of Navigon are You running ? I just keep getting Foce Closure It still doesn't work using my BI-406BT GPS unit - I can get them paired but no matter which GPS app I use I can't get them connected. I've tried changing some of the settings in the apps but nothing seems to work - shame, I'd rather like a huge satnav unit!
Guest AlanBd Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Hi all, Slightly OT but assuming we can get the hw working, what is the best sw? I use TomTom very happily atm but I assume its not available for non fruit based phones/tabs?
