I had a quick look, you did not change the text in the update script, it come from the OUK version?

Incident? Hope it was nothing really serious and you feel better :(

Yes, I used the OUK update zip, replaced the system folder, boot.img and recovery.img with the boot.img, recovery.img and unpacked system.tar from the romdump. I already tested it and it flashed correctly I think, stock recovery and all. I just couldn't resign it.

I went down to San Diego for work, and on the way back I was involved in a car crash, im on some pills for the pain.. at times they are very..... odd effects, so Im not too awake at times.

I will double check it at the weekend, but did you remove romdump from /system/bin ?

Its seems no one else has this "Stock" 2.2 India ROM, You have to ask some other Indian members of the forum to see if they can do a ROM Dump of it.

Ya but how ?????

You appear to keep trying various ROMs and then panicking about (not) having the Dell Stock effort... why? Just use one of the million ROMs you have tried. What do YOU think the Dell ROM will offer you over and above anything else? Why not try actually using your phone instead of just wearing the NAND cells out?

And please stop SHOUTING WITH ALL CAPS. It's rude and ignorant.

(And don't call me "Man" either.)

Hi Sebastian, it turned out that the recovery in the original dump for this Gen2 phone had a Gen1 Clockwork installed on the recovery partition. I've now got a dump of the real recovery partition for the phone and have made a recovery rom here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6wme8kejj1jj1ld

You may also want to have a look at the install script as I've added a check to make sure it cannot be installed on Gen1 phones.

If I view the DevInfo (dialler code *938*5182#), I get:

#1 PREEMPT Jan 25 10:13:29 CST 2011

Build Number OUK_P729BV1.0.0B10

Software Version OUK_P729BV1.0.0B20

Not sure if this is a new ROM or not, it shows up as B10 in the Settings menu. I bought this phone last Wednesday from Orange, and it had only just come back in stock. If you think this is something new I'll dump the ROM and share it.
