Guest captainsensible Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 How is everyone finding battery life on their Vega?
Guest removed-14 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) How is everyone finding battery life on their Vega? It's amazing. One day last week I took my Vega off charge at 7.30am, used occasionally, web browsing, wifi, twitter etc (not a great deal to be honest) and after 7 hours it is showing 83% battery remaining. That, you have to say, is very good! Yesterday on standby for 9 hours it was down to 84% from full charge. I didn't use it at all mind. Just takes a while to charge, probably my only gripe. I used mine for an hour this morning before going to work ... Surfing and a few minutes of Angry Birds .. and the battery went down to 83% ... So I suggest milage may vary

Did you turn off wifi when you weren't using it? I unplugged mine this morning and had wifi on the whole time at work, and given it disconnects when the device is asleep wouldn't think there would be much drain. Apart from a bit of browsing I have done some demo-ing video to a few interested people - my battery is now at 55% which seems a little lowin comparison
Guest removed-14 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Hmmm not as good. I didn't use it that much to be honest, but I'm always impressed with how frugal it is.
Guest welshblob Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Just takes a while to charge, probably my only gripe. I've just noticed that whilst charging the battery indicator doesn't properly update. Charging for about 40mins from 28% and when i next looked it was on 29%. Unplugged the power and it shot up to 66%. Rob

I turned mine on this morning and it had the same percentage as last night when I plugged it in ... Once you unlock it updates ... Maybe something Paul can fix ??? :P
Guest firedup Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Something weird happening with my battery. Left it at 83% and then picked it up this morning and it was flat.
Guest Evil Kaz Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Something weird happening with my battery. Left it at 83% and then picked it up this morning and it was flat. Yea had that twice both times it was around 25% and the thing just went dead.
Guest Bonuman Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Could be that the battery is not properly calibrated. Try draining the device fully (until it won't boot anymore), then charge it again. See if that helps.

Try draining the device fully (until it won't boot anymore), then charge it again. See if that helps. On my second charge now and battery seems to drop about 1% every 2 mins. Not that good. Hope it improves soon....
Guest Pyr0x64 Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) anyone tried charging it fully, deleting the batterystats.bin file (in /data/system/) and rebooting? don't worry, the batterystats.bin file will be recreated when the device boots [edit] sorry, probably better in the order: delete file, turn off, charge fully, turn on Edited November 27, 2010 by Pyr0x64
Guest removed-14 Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Quick update on mine. Fully charged Friday night, used a lot on Saturday, wifi on all the time, youtube, browsing, games, app installing etc. Used most of this morning and battery is showing 17%. I think that is very good. Plus 99% of my posts on modaco in the past 5 days have been with my Vega :P

Guest debs626 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Its just taken me nearly a whole 2 days to run the battery flat, I've just used up the last 3% battery on watching youtube video's until the unit switched its self off. Just put it on charge to see how long it takes to get it back up to 100% After just a little over two hours of charging (with unit powered off) its at 54% charged Ok, final edit ..... My Vega took exactly 4 hours to charge to 100% from a dead battery. Edited November 29, 2010 by debs626
Guest shutdown Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Took mine off charge at 7:30am today. Done a fair bit of surfing using wifi, email, app installing and general stuff and i am now at 23%
Guest shutdown Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 As an update, it went from 23% down to 5% and has stayed there. So thats a full day of use and i can't kill it :P
Guest terdbin Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Does anyone else find that the battery diminshes whilst in suspend? My drops considerably, about 10% per hour. There must be some readon for this, wifi, synch etc? But i have no idea.

Guest terdbin Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Yes it does go down a bit quick but it is still doing stuff... it must be! Lol Hmm, yes but what is it doing and how? I assumed suspend is similar to pc sleep, i.e. no data connection. That being the case what could be using the battery? Ive switched off auto synching of ny gmail and exchange accounts, to see if that makes a difference.
