How to switch 2.2 to 1.4.6

Fantastic you have a convert I have the EU 2.2 that came out I went from 1.6 o2 21 baseband thinking wow what an improvement its going to be.... hmmm poor Dell guys must be having a hard time of it.

I will search for the flash clockwork instructions and go from there. Please Steve one thing once on your ROM is it just a simple case of downloading a new Update.zip after that to the SD card and using clockwork to auto update the rom. Will you loose settings this way or is it a totally new flash? Obviously with donation!

usually a factory reset isnt required (havn needed one as yet going from v1 upwards

sorry to be a dullard I'm reading the instructions and just a wee bit cautious. I'm skipping points 2-4 and running ClockWorkMod Rom Manager I've Flashed ClockWorkMod Recovery and restarted the device then backed up my current ROM GAUSB1A130900 Build 11548 and then chosed update-1.4.6.zip from the sd card and on first attempt it just rebooted to the existing rom build 11548. I'm reading the section in the instructions as 2.2 meaning any 2.2 but I have a feeling I'm needing your 2.2 or is the new vanilla one I have ok. excuse my ignorance very noobie. I think I'm confusing myself tobe honest and I'm making it more complicated than it is

did you rename the zip file to Update.zip?

I tried all points in the 1.4.6 thread used flasboot -i to flash the mbn file and it did I checked the base band after and it was still on build 11548 lease I'm not sure whats up here do I have to revert to 4399?

Please I have followed the instructions

and I still get left with the same new stock 2.2 Rom

I have

1) installed 2.2 from 1.6 and am now at GAUSB1A130900 Build 1158

2) I restored all my apps and rooted my device with z4root no issues

3) Loaded Clockwork Rom Managerfrom the market and flashed the rom recovery tool. and followed the instructions here using the 2.5.0.1-recovery-clockwork-streak instructions

4) fastbooted and transfered the amss.mbn file to the device

5) Rebooted let it reboot a couple of times all this time the 1.4.6 Update.zip was on the SD card as was the Update.pkg from Dell

6) went back into boot loader chose option 2 and every time it tells me I'm about to flash the device and not take me to the clockwork recovery menu.

I don't understand as all the files I read seem to be transfered no issues. But I am stuck with build 1158. Please any help appreciated... sleep now
