Guest technaudio Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) I've noticed my desire is beginning to suffer screen burn, the worst culprit being the clock, also the signal bars and the H and up down arrows, is there a simple way to get rid of the clock?? I assume this is going to get worse... :P Oh, and its an amoled screen. About 6 months old. Edited November 26, 2010 by technaudio
Guest bpivk Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 I don't think that there is a way to do that. But you could try to make it transparent. How can you get a screen burn? Is your screen always on? And why don't you send your phone to the nearest service center?

Yes, I use my phone a lot, so the screen is on a lot, and the time is always there in the top corner, along with signal bars, and its starting to leave a shadow on the screen...
Guest Jannik Nielsen Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Yes, I use my phone a lot, so the screen is on a lot, and the time is always there in the top corner, along with signal bars, and its starting to leave a shadow on the screen... have you tried turning the screen off for some hours and check if its still there? regular screen "burns" on plasma tv's etc disappear after some hours

If I remember correctly, when using an alternative launcher (LauncherPro), you can hide the whole status bar....and also make it visible again with assigned button when needed.

I'm using ADW and you can hide the bar, i have it set to an upward swipe
Guest DanWilson Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Use CM6 to hide the clock. Perhaps make a black status bar with grey signal bars? And a black clock if CM6 doesn't hide the clock.
Guest shokka9 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 launcherpro lets u hide status bar too :P
Guest technaudio Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I know theres launchers out there that hide the whole status bar, but only when your on your home screens, it comes back on apps, navi etc. i just want to hide the clock, ive managed to change all the other icons by using supercircle and other icon packs, but cant find anywhere how to get rid of, or even just change the colour of the clock! Oh, and yes it is still there!

Guest zurpher Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Excellent!!! Its gone! Cheers. No more nasty screen burn for me! :-D I have a ZTE Blade with OLED screen and am concerned about an eventual screen burn in. I am new to Android and its customization. I don't have a clue what ADW and CM6 is. Therefore, I need some help to change the light grey taskbar to something which is more like your screenshot. I would appreciate if you (or someone else) could provide foolproof instructions. Cheers.
