Guest Broc Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 How does this work.. it backs up the ROM, the apps, the settings, everything? And once it's done this we should copy the backup it makes to the PC?

For complete, but not editable or selection restoring: clockworkmod recovery backup)
Guest alltheway3 Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) So if I was to use titanium backup then flash a new ROM, everything will be how I like it? EDIT: I just realised that was really vague. All my phone settings and application settings will be the same? Edited November 28, 2010 by alltheway3
Guest Broc Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 I've chosen to backup all "apps and system data" and now have a folder on my sd card called titanium backup with lots of files in it - but in what circumstances would I need them and how would I reinstalled those apps and data? I can't find an app called clockworkmod recovery backup but there is one called "ROM Manager - Clockworkmod"?

Guest gambieter Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Opened it and its stuck on "asking for root rights"... Any fixes? Yes, make sure your phone is rooted, and if not, root it first. Come on, you do not give any information on what you have installed (stock Orange, custom ROM?), what you have already tried, and are also not using the Search function. Many of these things are in the stickies, start reading those before asking. Edited November 29, 2010 by gambieter

Guest godmd5 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 you can download "filego" in market, it can backup the app with out data, not root need
Guest SebbesApa Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Opened it and its stuck on "asking for root rights"... Any fixes? Just force close TI and restart it. That works for me...
Guest badboy165 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 If I make a Titanium backup then do a factory reset and then update to a new rom (eg 2.1 to 2.2)...can I restore only the apps that were installed on 2.1 onto the new 2.2 rom or can I only use it to do a full restore from a backup?

That's what I did when I moved from 2.1 to 2.2
Guest The Soup Thief Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hiya Got a query about Titanium backup I've used it quite a bit, but have always found that when I give it a lot to do it freezes, ie I just had it try to backup all my apps and data, it got half way through (80 odd apps, so it's quite a lot of stuff) but then it choked - didn't say anything but just stopped. when i came back from lunch it was still there having done about a quarter of the backup. Left it 10 mins and it was still at the exact same spot I've found today (and previously) that if I back up in chunks (so today I did 4 backups of twenty) it seems happier. It still got stuck (on Google backup transport 2.2 and then again later on Pico TTS 1.0) but each time I just stopped the Titanium program and backed up that item individually - went ok It gets there in the end, it's just a bit of a pain having to go back and start it up again I always update Busybox so it's not that Just wondering if anyone else has this kind of problem, or is it just a fire and forget thing for everyone else? Thanks using FLB Froyo 3 lite
Guest Kthulhu Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hiya Got a query about Titanium backup ... using FLB Froyo 3 lite I am using the same rom and have the some problems from time to time, I think that there is a post explaining how to fix this doing some editing of system phone file - search in FLB Froyo thread.
