Froyo and locations

Is my understanding still correct that all the current froyo roms have trouble updating your locations on some widgets etc?

As I used and older alpha rom and it didn't update the weather based on my current location using beautiful widgets

Has this problem been solved or it still reamin? As i'm tempted to flash fibble's latest effort
