Just thought I'd post this as a wee warning for others wishing to unlock to O2.

I did it.. all working fine..except MMS. I'd like to thank the person who posted the APN settings..so now my internet is working.

But even after a chat with O2 to send some settings for me..i can't send or receive multimedia messages. I'm a bit gutted as I LOVE this phone, but that's a rather basic thing not to work :P and now I'm on the hunt for a either a solution..or a new phone..great forum btw! :D Trish xx

I might have a similar problem. But I'm on 3Ireland. As far as I know, my APN settings are correct. I just cant download MMS messages sent to me. Is it a phone/ROM issue? I'm on an r4 2.1 ROM.

Maybe try these settings

Name: O2 MMS

APN: wap.o2.co.uk

Proxy: http://wap.o2.co.uk

Port: 9201

Username: o2wap

Password: password

Server: n/a

MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

MMS Port: 8080

MCC: 234

MNC: 10

Authentication Type: n/a

APN type: mms

everything lower case, make sure you press menu and save, then reboot the phone!

Or maybe have a look through this post and see if you can find what you need: O2 mms settings

MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

MMSProxy: 193.113.200.195

MMS Port: 8080

MNC: 10

APN type: mms

now this is strange...i tried lots of the other settings..tho they wouldn't let me select them (wee green dot)

I looked at this page as suggested by feckineejit..

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...nlocking-to-o2/

and could only get the first part of andyc240's settings..but it did select and i managed to send a pic message..scared to touch it now lol :P

p.ps not working again lol..i give up!

You cannot select the mms settings

you have to add the O2 settings, and then the mms settings but ONLY select the wap/internet settings

the mms gets picked up automatically when you go to send one

btw its hardly worth it, the message/picture size is tiny unless you use a different mms apk, simpler to send an email instead of mms, it can be sent direct from the phone and you can attach almost anything

good point lew..but my friends like to send mad pics when they're out..they're not going to bother if they have to email them.

Anyways..I've tried every setting here..and strangely only worked for a min on one..dead again.

I'm just ditching this wonderful handset :P :D :D

Sorry if it's unimportant here..but I hope this may help anyone who is still having problems with mms/browsing on o2 simplicity.

Maybe it seems a bit obvious now..but using the first half of the 2nd set..then the 2nd half of the 1st set seems to be working for now.

After much frustration I realized that you need to clear 'messaging' application data after applying o2 mms apn settings (or at least I did before it would work).

I have also just unlocked a San Fran to O2 but now need to sort out the internet connection. You mention that the APN settings will fix this but I can't find the settings in the thread.

Can anyone help with passing them my way? Thanks!

Have bought the phone for my wife and am really impressed with it. Have an iPhone myself, but am not convinced the price difference justifies it anymore. Maybe the gremlins will show up over time?

Hiya..if you look at 4 & 5 posts above you..that's how I got my mms and broswer working..but diff settings work for diff people. I'm on 12 month simplicity contract.

I'll be glad to get another phone that o2 at least have on their list..because getting this working has been a nightmare. mms pics still come through tiny .

Apologies first of all for bumping this thread. I don't want settings..had them working for a while ..now they've gone again. ;) I don't care any more lol. What I wanted to ask was..before i ever buy another android phone...are the mms problems with o2 because they don't acknowledge the handset unless they sell it..or do they have a problem with android?. I've NEVER had problems with mms before i got the SF. I'm hoping that if i buy a handset directly from O2, mms will work fine..problem is they never have the one that i want :) xx
