I come from CHINA ,my english is very poor. Sorry.

I want to make my notebook' wirelessCard as a Hotspot and make SF internet by WIFI

but SF can't scan any hotspots ,

after wifinder.apk installed, this soft can find hotspot, but can't link , net type is IBSS(ADhoc)

but my ipad and iphone4 can use this hotspot and no problems.

my rom is villain 2.1

I think this could be android rom's problem.

my friend's samsung I5700 and Millionstone can modify system/etc/wifi/tilan.ini to surport ADHOC and IBSS

but i can't find tilan.ini in SF

so i want your help

Thanks

I have a couple of Adhoc networks running.

To be able to connect to the Adhoc network I have to turn on static IP in the advanced menu.

I then also use Wifi Static by Farproc to automatically change my static ip address, it can also handle DHCP.

Hope that helps :P

What's your OS?

Some OS's or Drivers for Wifi can only find Infrastructure Networks - Apps like Barnacle make AdHoc ones.

However all 2.2 Android phones have the option to make the device an Infrastructure hotspot.

Iphones, iPods and Ubuntu machines can join AdHoc networks.
