Guest wiffeltje Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 I just tried to follow the guide to install a new rom (BladeVillain) to my ZTE Blade. Installing ClockworkMod worked fine and I was able to get to the point were I can choose the zip file on my sdcard. It starts to install and goes up to: ... Formatting SYSTEM:... Copying files... Deleting files... Copying files... Formatting CACHE:... Formatting BOOT:... but then it gives an error E:Board does not support mtd utils.E:Failure at line 63: write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT: Installation aborted. I tried the same with the stock image. That gives the same result. I tried to reinstall ClockworkMod, but that does not help either. I tried with another sd card, but still the same error. Whatever I try, I keep on getting the same error. So, I've got a very nice phone that doesn't boot anymore. Is there anything I can do to get my nice ZTE Blade up-and-running again ?

Guest marnomar Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Hi guys, This thread couldn't have started at a better time! I had the same problem as the OP with installing custom ROMs on my SF. Tried Paul's ROM, then a FroYo and eventually wanted to revert to the stock Orange ROM - all with no joy, got stuck on the same error. Had I known it was better to use the older version of ClockworkMod Recovery, I wouldn't have wasted the whole evening (and half a night)... With the older version it worked like a charm and took me 10 minutes. (Yes, I did have a lot of practice after the previous day's failed attempts...) :D Thanks to all for your help! :P
Guest mpy.de Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Hello I have the same Problem with 2.5.1.3 "Board does not support mtd utils". I would like to use the 2.5.0.9 Verion but I cannot get it flashed. The first time I used the "Full Debranding easy guide & Custom recovery instalation" from jutley because I have trouble with fastboot, but this time I can not use it since the Phone doesnt start, I cant use better terminal. fastboot on windows shows "waiting for device" I tried 4 PCs XP and Win7 x64, tried usb-driver, zte-drive no success. Then I tried ubuntu live cd like in the "Installing the MoDaCo Custom ROM from scratch" Post but on 3 different PCs in ubuntu after typing sudo ./fastboot-linux flash ... it said command not found? Is there any ather way to roll back to clockworkMod 2.5.0.9 without using fastboot and the Windows usb-driver, that I cannot get to work with the clockwork 2.5.1.3 image? Any help would be appreciated
