This is based on the new Froyo leak b04. Used the files provided by tomg (i think) with fixed RIL, added Google Apps etc. Can't remember all the changes but i flashed it and it boots, auto brightness works, gps works but took a while to get a fix. It's the first time i've ever done this so please Nandroid first. It's just something to toy with until Paul releases his.

Hardware Accelleration Enabled.

Google Apps added.

Wifi status added.

Removed bootsound.

New bootanimation.

May not work for everyone due to large boot.img but works fine for me. Please do a full wipe first.

Thanks, I'm wondering if it's possible to add proxy settings now for wifi connections? It's my biggest issue at the moment - any workaround or fix will be appreciated if it's not included as part of this version!

Humm do I flash and enjoy the update.....or do I wait for Paul

He said a few hours.......but then patience never was my strong point!

if anyone is running this, would be interested to hear some feedback

Warning for those trying this: on booting I got a very quick splash of something on the screen before it all went blank. But leave it alone and it'll load. The Google stuff is all there and worked for me, so I'd say it's usable by most people.

Yeah after bootanimation it goes blank for a bit. Not sure if that is something in framework-res.apk. Also not really tested this for long as i have been out and about today so can't comment on specific features etc.

Just noticed that the other Froyo issue spotted on the alpha is still there: I get an orange-edged box across the top entry in Calendar (it seems to me like it's a text entry box, but it's invisible to the system -- you touch through it). Perhaps this is something to do with the specific apk being used?

Yes it is the same apk used from other roms. It should be easily fixed i suppose!

Unfortunately my Finnish Blade suffers from the screen not waking up -problem with this new rom as well. Same with all froyo roms I have tried, happens after 10-20 attempts.

So it looks like the hardware in the new Chinese blades with 2.2 is not the same we've got here.

Superuser doesn't seem to work -- apps can't get permission and the Log force closes. Is there a simple fix?

Not sure will take a look. Superuser was already there so i'm guessing some other files are missing or messed up. Maybe Pauls rom will be up soon :P

Ummm.

I'm not sure that conclusion follows logically.

There are only two pre-production prototype FroYo leaks to provide the basis of absolutely all the current 2.2 mods ...

When there's a version that ZTE believe to be stable enough to release to production, THEN worry IF that isn't stable on the SF.

Until then ...

ROM installed and working fine at first glance. Thanks!

Could you share with us Quadrant results?

Not to sound like an ass, but Quadrant results don't mean much as they vary so wildly between runs and don't always give a true indication of how the phone performs.

Sorry for being a bit offtopic, but how do you know paul will be releasing a new rom soon?

is this new kernal leak better/more functional than the kernal on the FLB & JJ?
