i wanna change the default home screen orientation to portrait...is it possible? build.prop maybe?

i use adw in portrait but my problem is another.

if i could change anywhere the default rotation all installed programs

start as portrait when the 'auto rotation is off' in settings/display

this is my goal

ive tested no affect. after restart all applications start as landscaped

Looks like ro.build.APP_ORIENTATION_LANADSCAPE=1 is in build.prop twice. And no, that's not a typo it seems to be misspelled in several different builds.

Anyway, I've changed both of them to ro.build.APP_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE=0, ro.build.APP_ORIENTATION_LANADSCAPE=0 and still nothing. Would deleting the entry altogether cause it to use the Android OS default of portrait I wonder.....

I'm gonna keep playing with this. I wanna get this thing using portrait for default.

yes, this is the problem. it is burned anywhere in the rom. but where?

No luck for me by changing the build.prop too. Any other potential way to revert the Dell Streak default orientation from Landscape to Portrait? I am not just talking about lock screen (w/ 3rd party apps) or home screen (w/ ADW). I am talking about Default Orientation as a whole, like any other Android phone.

I do a lot of reading at night in bed and I really prefer to hold my phone in Portrait mode laying side way (it became Landscape to the phone). Turning off Auto Rotate will force it to landscape and I hate holding it that way even with my big hands (6'2").

I too want to change my Streak's default orientation to Portrait... Dell really did a number on us by flipping the screen to landscape.

Did the ro.build*********landscap=0 thing, it doesn't work.

i want phone to universally stay in portrait for every app untill i manually toggle to landscape

like ipad can do.
