Terminal Emulator to launch .dex executables

Hi,

I have a rooted ZTE Blade and was wondering if it was possible to execute an application from the Terminal Emulator? I know a bit about how applications are packaged and that there is a .dex file involved.

I want to do this so I could give an application like Astro File Manager root privileges by calling it from Terminal Emulator with root privileges.

Any help would be great.
