This rom is basically a winrar job based on Pauls hard work. So all credit goes to him and providers of the dump.

My changes,

Added old style a2sd. (Requires ext 2/3 partition.)

Changed bootanimation.

Enabled Hardware Acceleration.

VM heap changed to 32.

Updated apns.

Changed timezone to London in build.prop.

Removed duplicate build.prop from /system/etc/.

Transparent lockscreen. (Not sure if i like it on dark backgrounds...)

Fixed Calendar graphic issue. (Hopefully!)

Probably more i forget :P

Plus all the features of Pauls initial release.

Packaged for ClockworkMod (including 2.5.1.3)

Full up to date Google experience+ additional apps

Many updated parts

Patched libraries to allow Google account setup via WiFi (YES... a fix for the 'invalid MAC address' problem)

Removal of Chinese software bits

Reverted icons to stock style where appropriate

Tweaked to show full market

Set to English by default

Updated RIL and removed 'SecuritySMS'

UK English for Voice Dialler

Renamed 'FMRadio' to 'FM Radio'

Replaced ZTE clock apps with Google 'Desk Clock'

Updated lockscreen and homescreen background

Fixed 'emergence' typo on lockscreen

Insecure boot image

su / Superuser.apk root

Support for running scripts from /etc/init.d at startup

Terminfo support (for nano etc)

/system/sd mountpoint for A2SD / A2SD+

Spare parts included

Has anyone tested if google calendars sync correctly with this?

With pauls original alpha they just don't sync.

Thanks so much Paul and Frankish!

Could you confirm a few things for me:

Is Wifi working in sleep mode?

Is the GPS ok?

Is the Dialer issue fixed?

Will report back on Calendar. I don't think wifi in sleep is fixed. GPS works for most people but can take a while to get first fix. I'm pretty sure the dialer issue is gone.

Good news: Calendar does not have stray bar. Bad news: Calendar does not sync with Google -- in fact, in this version they aren't even listed in the app.

I haven't ran into any gps/wifi problems yet..

Overall, the rom seems to be working quite well with a2sd...very good job!

Just 1 small niggle...quadrant seems to be giving me a score of ~440 which is very similar to my score on the modaco r4 rom...any ideas why?

Thanks

Same here after exchanging the apks in Paul's ROM.

Kind of a big issue for me as I need calendar alot for work.

Only potential clue I could find to the Calendar sync issue is that "Calendar Storage" appears under "Running services" but the item entry below it is conspicuous by its absence. And under 2.1 (with working calendar sync) there's no such item in "Running services". Curious...

This is apparently because stagefright is now turned off in build.prop. It fixes the green line in youtube videos. If you want to test then edit build.prop to enable all stagefright stuff then do a quadrant and see results!

No coarse location. :P

EDIT:

The calendar we may just have to revert to old apk's with orange box...not sure if it can be removed by editing the .apk somehow...

Damn! Will this coarse location thing be fixed? I find it so useful in many apps.

These builds we have hold of are still internal testing builds so i'm sure eventually a fix will be found. I too find it useful :P

Thanks for the quick responses! I haven't tried your ROM and am a bit dizzy thinking about all the various releases people are putting out.

I am quite happy with Fibble's 2.2, is there any reason to switch to yours?

It seems that heavy fragmentation occurs even within ROM communities!

Mine is pretty much the same as Pauls. It is based on a newer leak. Fibble's has a high cpu usage issue on boot and dialer issue too at least. I'd say wait for Pauls r2 of his. He has fixed a few bugs etc. If you want old a2sd for your apps then wait for me to get hold of Pauls next release and i will add it.

There is nothing wrong with lots of choice you just have to know what you're looking for.

Angry birds was lagging bit a on Paul's Alpha1 Froyo.

Smooth on yours Probably Due to HWUI being switched on.

Cool cool.

I do really like the a2sd with partition so will wait for your release. (Moving apps to SD just isn't the same...)

I think my point is that all these ROMs seem quite similar with minor tweaks, case in point I'll choose yours cos of the a2sd function but it seems Paul could easily add this in.

I def noticed a performance increase moving to 2.2 on all games, much smoother!

It is strange that Orange aren't planning a 2.2 release considering the improvements are significant.

If I showed a normal San Fran user my phone they wouldn't believe the performance, it can stand proud next to the Desire.
